Nathan's entire request for this one could've been simplified to: "I would like a 20x30 commission and tell JB to make it the most awesome one ever!!!!"  Which is really the way to go.  I've been thinking too small.  My requests only specify to make mine better than Paul Greer's.

I love how many of these characters exist just for reasons of sheer, exuberant fun! Impy, Bat-Mite, Wonder Tot, Streaky, Ace, Herbie, Harvey characters, all wonderful, inventive characters who exist simply to bring a smile...

I also love how many small emotional stories are being told here, simply by virtue of who the characters are, their expressions, and where they are in proximity to one another... I'm thinking here of Thomas Wayne looking up at his son and Jonathan Storm looking up at his daughter...

And, as noted upthread, there is magic in seeing the Human Torch and Negative Man sailing through the air side-by-side...

That REALLY works, doesn't it?

In seeing the Harvey characters, that really brings back memories for me!  I loved reading Casper, and Hot Stuff, and Baby Huey, and Little Audrey, and Sad Sack....  and so many, many more.  Now those were fun comics to read!
