Petter, that's because it's not about restarting contunity; it's about
starting a digital line and realizing they can't start a digital title with a
number above one. It's a means to restarts numbering for digital
sales.

Starting there they decide to reboot some lines, but it really isn't the
reason so a few escape the reboot.

If you want to bel;ieve rumors, Lee has been working on this anywhere between 2 years and 18 months.  I thinik we'll get at least 8 issues out of him that are mothly before he hands the reins to someone else.

The ONE thing I can find forgivable about Lee being late is because he also has a "daytime" job with DC.  First as a VP-Edtor with Wildstorm and now Co-Publisher.  The rest of the artists who are late, no reason for it outside of a family emergency or health issue of some sort.

If you can't handle the work on a monthly title, don't take the gig.
Giving Lee an "out" because he has other responsibilities is just
another excuse. I didn't give Quesada an out because of his day job.
Not gonna do it for Lee either.

Well, Lee was never late when he did "Hush" and was late the last 2 or 3 issues of the Superman story he did with Azzarello.  And the lateness for All-Star Batman was due more to the fact that he was not getting scripts from Miller than anything else.

Be that as it may, here's the cover to the new Action Comics #1:

"Silly looking" are the first words that comes to mind for me.

I like Rags Morales' art, but that looks a little too polished to be his (even though I know he's the penciller). The light effects, the blur effects... it's too busy and distracting from the guy that's supposed to be the focal point. My eyes keep getting drawn up to the right because I'm trying to focus on something that can't be focused on.

I thought this was the cover to #1:

Prefer it, though I'm not into the costume at all. Still looking forward to the series.

I am a bit confused on why Superman has two costumes. Either they are ignoring continuity already or we may have two different Supermen.

Paul - Action Comics #1-? takes place in the past, when Superman first shows up. It takes place before all the other comics. JLA #1-6 takes place about 5 years ago, when the League first forms, and then picks up in the modern era at #7.

Yep, they're sure making it easier for new readers! That's so much better of an explanation than "We're keeping Action and Detective at their current issue numbers because of the history!"
