The sad thing about Superman is that he's been kidnaped and replaced by his action figure.

I was kind of interested when this was first announced, but having seen what is coming out, nothing about it makes me want to support it.

I will buy ZERO DC comics after August. They got not another penny of my money. If they wanted to go the Ultimate Marvel route, they should have done just that, and left the rest of the DCU alone. They could have every book drawn by George Perez with a chance to win a golden ticket to tour Willy Wonka's chocolate factory & I still wouldn't buy this crap.

The pants thing is like when Jim Lee got an animation contract for his WildCATS and all of a sudden all of his women went from bikini briefs to pants.

Oh god, why do I remember all this? :(

Ummmm.... why does Supergirl have "man-hands"?

Oh, and it just goes to prove, not even a great artist like Perez can make a bad costume look good.

Kevin, I think I read that after the reboot, "man hands" will be a defining trait of Kryptonians.

The new look Superman reminds me of this:

As opposed to this:

My big hope for a line-wide reboot was that characters would be reset to their classic, idealized versions, like Bruce Timm and Co. did with DC's animated properties.  Put everyone back into something resembling his most iconic costume, tweak the origins a bit (but keep them simple), and make some fun, easily accessible comics.  The fact that a lot of these costumes are so far off the mark isn't filling me with confidence about the stories, to be honest.

And setting Action Comics and Detective Comics back to #1 issues depresses me more than it probably should.  And maybe it's because this reboot might not be the one that takes, so maybe we'll get another Action Comics #1 in three years, or maybe DC won't balk at canceling a low-selling Action or Detective title if it's a book that's only got 20 or 40 issues of history.

I'm sure I'll give the new Justice League book a look, and that will help me gauge interest in the other new titles.  Grant Morrison's All-Star Superman is one of my favorite DC Comics of the past decade, so I'll give his new Superman title a shot, but I might stop reading Batman for the first time in over 20 years, which is also depressing me.

And now the periodic table is getting a reboot, too.  I blame Dan DiDio.

Saw OMAC today.  Yuck.

I like Giffen but this is beyond the pale for me.

DC has jumped the shark on this reboot.  What a way to drive off the remaining fans.

I think it is safe to say that all of us are fans of comics and I haven't seen very many of us go "THAT makes me want to follow the series!"
