I wouldn't mind if they did reboot the whole thing. Rebooting doesn't make the older stories any less great , but I'll believe it if I see it.

That Brad would cease, but the new time line Brad would and he wouldn't know any different. So no harm done. I hope he kept up on his jogging.

A soft clean-up, perhaps, like they started doing with Zero Hour, but a full line wide issue 1 reboot? Nope. The logistics of doing something rivalling or actually improving upon the COIE reboot while keeping it secret would mean dozens of top industry names locked into exclusive contracts and disappearing from sight for months to get a head start. It would mean lots of top level meetings and a lot of minor projects drying up, ending or getting retooled to work with the reboot. It would look to an outsider as if DC was panicking, shutting down its low earners and not starting new projects, which is a risky image to put out in a recession. It would mean literally hundreds of people knowing a really juicy secret, yet not breathing a hint to the gossip columns. That would be impressive. And to me, unlikely.

Just found out about the "only Flashpoint #5 the week of August 31st" at the comic shop this week, and yes, I think some kind of line-wide realignment or reboot is being set up. Not sure exactly how it'll work, but I read and mostly enjoyed the first issue of Flashpoint, so I've got some interest. I follow almost no DC books currently, but a reboot (or whatever it is; I'm betting it's not a full scale reboot) would at least have me watching to see how all the new books tumble out.
That's more interest than I've had for the last few years. Identity Crisis, more than anything else, left DC tainted for me. Outside the odd Darwyn Cooke project or Jonah Hex, it's all felt marred after that. But I'd like to see them right themselves. To that end, I'll be watching.

You can't reboot everything if you don't reboot Geoff Jones's corner.

It's not going to be a line wide reboot. Just messing with characters they've been wanting to "fix" and haven't gotten around to yet, I suspect. But geez. Screwing with reality AGAIN? It's a DC cliche as it is. Can't they just leave well enough alone?

I know both Doom Patrol and R.E.B.E.L.S were canceled this month. That's 40% of the titles I was buying from DC. And nothing I've seen of Flashpoint so far has inspired me to fill the gap.

I enjoyed Flashpoint no. 1, so I'm interested to see what DCU "tweaks" will come out of it. I'm primarily a TPB buyer and reader these days, but Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert hooked me for the five-issue series.
