I am just now finding all this out (I've been out of the loop for the past few days), so this is pretty much my realtime reaction to this whole reset news.

The inclusion of Cyborg in the JLA makes me think the reboot is not going to be that we're seeing the heroes as new heroes in the present day. Some origins and costumes will be changed, titles relaunched but the present day of the DCU will be about five years in to the modern heroic age. That way, they can still keep majority of the changes and new characters from the last couple of years. Hal Jordan may have never been Parallax or the Spectre, but we can keep the multi-colored Lanterns, Guy Gardner, John Stewart. Morrison can keep his Batman, Inc concept. The Teen Titans can still be new guys with the old identities. The new Blue Beetle will still be the kid and not Ted Kord (the new history could even write Kord out of continuity completely, have the kid get the scarab directly from Garrett), etc. Creators will be free to include or dismiss various aspects of the history as it suits them and soon conflicts will again show up as some people will want Power Girl to still be from Earth-2 and not whatever new origin will be given her.

Of course as a big Booster Gold fan, I can't wait to see how his title deals with this since he's aware of what's going on.

Is DC really going to remove (popular) third rate knock-offs like Nightwing in this relaunch?

And now I read that "Blackest Night" will endure thru the relaunch...

It's deja vu all over again.

Are you serious? Ok, so characters that died in a backstory which will no longer exist are going to stick around from resurrections from that same backstory?  Now I've gone from mostly frustrated to completely confused.

This is the reason why I only read Marvel comics in the 80s... I could not stand COIE.

I think that there is going to be alot of speculation (and rumors) until it actually happens. I've read that alot of the creators aren't allowed to talk about what's happening until everything reboots.

Well this explains Batwoman.  At first it was delayed because the artists was late.  Then it was pushed to the fall and the artist claimed that it was not his fault.  Now it makes perfect sense.

It looks like JSA will continue. Just with a new creative team.

Tim, it looks like JSA (from the rumors that people are posting) will continue with a new number, just not with Marc Guggenheim writing it.

Craig, I think wait and see is probably the best way to go. Personally, I don't subscribe to the "if they're not in-continuity and don't count why should I read them" mentality. My enjoyment of the stories is what makes them count.

I like Ed's premise of a "5 years into their careers" starting point. We'll see what shakes out.
