Batman's not even being rebooted and they're still resetting Detective for some reason.
***********
They're not rebooting Batman but they're rebooting everyone else? Batman's part of the JLA...how does that work?

They're not rebooting everyone. It's like the original Crisis on Infinite Earths, some characters get reboots (JB's Superman and Perez's Wonder Woman), some get minor tweaks (Miller's Batman), some get brand new directions (Baron's Flash) and others continue on as if nothing changed (Englehart's Green Lantern, Conway's Justice League Detroit.)
The lack of consistency is frustrating, but I understand the rationale behind it. Don't mess with successful books.

I don't get the whole we're rebooting everything but Batman and Green Lantern either.
Legion too, but I can understand not wanting a 4th boot.

Don't mess with successful books. Back when DC originally did Crisis, their successful books )that they chose not to reboot) were selling HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of copies per month. Green Lantern was an exception, just because the GL mythos tied so heavily to the overall DCU. Today, the books that they're choosing not to reboot sell 60-70K. So our definition of "successful" now is definitely skewed from where it was in the 80's.

Looking at the previews that Kevin linked to in his post: So, the JLA series takes place five years ago, and heroes, all of them, were hunted by the law during that time? And Batman was wearing that armor outfit, though we are told by DC that the Batman series isn't being rebooted? And Green Lantern didn't know Batman was a real person (I guess DC is sticking with the "urban legend" thing)? Huh. Ok.

The funny thing is that they aren't rebooting Batman and GL but they're renumbering all the books to show that they're "committed". Huh? If you were committed wouldn't you reboot all the books?

The thing that's starting to show cracks for me is... Batman has a 10-year-old kid that he had well after he became Batman, during one of his early run-ins with Ra's and Talia.
But Superman only popped up on the scene and started the "Age of Superheroes" 5 years ago.
Huh?

Brad, Superman is supposed to be the first super-powered hero. There were already costumed heroes around, like Batman.

I believe Batman is supposed to have been operating in his urban legend incarnation for sometime before Superman's debut.
