I have often wondered, if I'd had a sibling, would I have half the neuroses, or twice as many?

Having been an only child who gained two step-siblings (one older, one younger) in my mid-teens, I'll side with "twice as many" on that one JB.

You'd have just as many, just a whole different set of them!

More than likely about the same. I'm one of two from a family that had it's own share of discord eventually ending in divorce, although not until I was grown and out of the house. My parents were of the generation that wouldn't consider divorce until the children had been raised. Never made a lick of sense to me considering both would have been much happier apart. As far as being buffeted between two parents, doesn't matter if you're an only child or the eldest of two or three. I am the eldest and was the sounding board for both my parents about the other. My brother helped just by being there, but he was often unaware of just how much was going down between my parents because I tried my best to hide it from him. So, yeah, some very good years and memories I wouldn't give up for the world, but also the same kinds of scars we all have whether we're only children or part of a large family.

My parents were of the generation that wouldn't consider divorce until the children had been raised.•• Another of my father's favorite jokes: A couple, both deep into their nineties, appear before a judge seeking a divorce. "Divorce," he asks, incredulous. "Why now? Why didn't you get divorced years ago?" The husband replies, "We wanted to wait until the children were dead."

Condolences, JB. With respect to the Lordship, I thought that, as an American citizen, one would be restricted from inheriting a Title... Or perhaps that is just being knighted... Dunno. Am I off here?

No titles are conferred by this country, but there are no laws restricting the inheritance of titles conferred by other countries, are there?

I'll second Francis' question.
I know in Canada, if I were to get Knighted by the Queen (as I'm sure to be any day now...) I'd have to renounce my Canadian citizenship and become a Brit because Canadians aren't allowed to accept honorary titles from other countries.

Especially if they have printed a bunch of unflattering stuff in their newspapers about the Prime Minister.

But an American citizen cannot be granted a title. Outside of the occasional chuckle, I have no plans on using it, anyway!

Have you ever drawn your father (or mother) into a comic? For instance, Alex Ross used the image of his father, if I recall, as the old man in the center of the Kingdom Come story.

Have you ever drawn your father (or mother) into a comic? •• Yes. Dad was the Canadian Government official who brought Mac Hudson "into the fold" in ALPHA FLIGHT.
