Now about halfway through OPAL COUNTRY (2022) by Chris Hammer, the first novel in his ongoing mystery series featuring the homicide detective team of Ivan Lucic and Nell Buchanan.

The series is set in modern day Australia and this book was originally published Down Under with the title of "Treasure & Dirt". The new title came about when the book was republished in the U.K.

Enjoying it a lot so far, to the point where I am going to have to really dig to find the next three novels in the series. There hasn't been a lot of distribution of Hammer's books here in the U.S. I have only found one of his novels at my local libraries.

Starting AN ARMY AT DAWN by rick Atkinson.

I'm not well versed at all on the WWII North African theater.
 Hoping this remedies that.

My uncle (mother’s brother) served in North Africa. He was an armorer with the RAF.

He was also in Malta.

At Matt Reed’s recommendation here, today I started GO DOWN TOGETHER, by Jeff Guinn. It’s a detailed history of Clyde and Bonnie (as they styled themselves).

This marks the first time I’ve read two books by the same author simultaneously.

I've just started Carson the Magnificent, a biography on Johnny Carson. Also reading Lies Across America, about the inaccuracies on historical markers and why they happened.
