Something just occurred to me. Since 2007, the US has been starting DST on the second Sunday in March. This means that the old mnemonic "Spring Forward, Fall Back" no longer applies, as we're now setting our clocks forward in the last week of Winter.

The brilliance that is Stephen Colbert on Daylight Savings Time:

This is so perfect - sketch comedy about time travel, with Captain America's shield on the wall.  It's all my nerd dreams come true in one segment.  Colbert and his writers are really amazing.

^ I love how he comes to the same conclusion in both scenarios:  "My other self must die!".  Great stuff!

I hate DST and wish they would stop moving the clocks.  Let the days get longer, then shorter on their own.  Or next time, spring forward 1/2 hour and leave it alone.

^ Agreed!

I have a rather thick co-worker who was having a really hard time understanding the purpose behind DST, and as I carefully explained it to her for the third time, I thought, "Just because I understand it, doesn't mean I agree with it----maybe I should just fuel her paranoia, and tell her it's a Republican conspiracy....".
