Looks like this may be working. Sales of # 8 in January were 30K.

I still haven't received my copy of the first She-Hulk TPB. As soon as I do, I will read it and post my review.

It does look like an improvement in the right direction for DP. But the 30K is in dollars the book generated not in how many were printed. It did look like more were sold than intially ordered, if I'm reading that chart correctly.
For those on the board sitting on the fence about The New Thunderbolts, I highly recommend this book. It is fast becoming my favorite Marvel title. Give it a try and keep the swap going strong.

That's great news. The bump in orders probably has more to do with the increased interest in JB's work due to the Demon. But it means that our efforts to build up the DP readership aren't in vain.
C'mon guys, we have only three books left to pick up. You wouldn't want to be "all hat and no cattle" , as they say in Texas ;)

I will pick up Aquaman in exchange for someone picking up Doom Patrol and post my review of Aquaman here.

It must be some sort of formula they have. It it is number of dollars generated, that would mean that DP only sold 12260 copies. That would indicate a decrease in sales and would probably be under cancellation numbers.
Unless I am reading that totally wrong.

30k is a figure from the column "retail rank". I don't think it means the actual dollar value of the comics.

The number reflects how many copies sold compared to Batman - but without Batman's numbers, we really can't tell what Doom Patrol sold.
ICV2.com does a chart every month where they estimate the copies sold. The current one hasn't been posted yet, but the archive can be found here:

Review of Birds of Prey #79.
Easliy accessible for the middle of a story arc. Had a quick recap of two of the three main characters history. Need another issue to learn more about the Huntress and Thorn and who they are. Had a good cliffhanger to bring readers back next month.
The art was okay. The girls looked nice in sexy poses but the artist struck me more of a Deodato clone than a dynamic artist.
I did like the pacing of the writing and touching on the theme of what makes a hero. Didn't like that Batman is mean to everyone. But that's more of a DC problem than the writers.
This was the first book I've read by Gail Simone, and I was satisfied with the overall quality of her work. I will buy the next issue to see how the story ends, but I don't know if there is enough interest on my end to buy the book regularly. There is nothing I can put my finger on but the characters don't interest me enough to go out of my way to buy the book. Maybe next issue will change my mind.

Well, I picked up Space Ghost 3 & 4 today and will be trying to locate copies of 1 & 2 to read(I may read 3 and 4 anyway and post reviews within the next couple of days).

Well I wouldn't let the art influence your decision too much. Ed Benes is leaving to do Superman. Joe Bennett (Hawkman, Captain America & The Falcon) will be taking over.

Just out of curiousity, has anyone picked up a book based on any of the reviews from a comic swap?

Rob , one of Chris' customers suggested Aquaman after buying Doom Patrol from his shop. So basically the other guy's side of the swap is already completed. I hope you enjoy Aquaman.
