Kate, perhaps you'd better wait until someone agrees to the exchange. Manhunter is very popular here, but there's no guarantee someone else will pick it up.

I'll pick up Manhunter, in trade with Kate. If someone else is dying to
I will give it up, but at this point it is on my list for next weds.

If someone else is dying to try Manhunter, I'll get in on another swap. I'm already in a swap for DP #7-8, G.I. Joe #34-35, Wonder Woman #215, Marvel Team-Up #3, 7 and Fallen Angel #19-20, so other than those I'll consider any others (including other issues of those titles named).

Brian, let's try to keep the swaps focused on Doom Patrol / Blood of the Demon, for now at least. If this really takes off and we are getting like dozens of people on say DP every week, then of course we should open it up for "free for all" trading.

Like I said, I've already done a DP swap and if someone thinks I'd get a better indication of what the series offers by trying issues other than #7-8, then I'm possibly open for another DP swap. And I've still got an offer of Aquaman for Blood of the Demon on the table from when I first posted that no one's taken. If someone wants to interchange Manhunter for Aquaman then that's fine. So I've already done my part to try and support DP and BotD. Additionally, if people from all around the Net are being told that they can get someone to try their favorite book by coming to this thread and trying DP and noone's picking up their suggestion, I don't see the harm in them arranging a swap amongst themselves.

Brian, I'm not saying "no". I'm asking you to be patient. I know Doom Patrol is not your cup of tea, but it means a lot to us here. Let's try to get as much done as possible for Doom Patrol first.

I see what you're saying, it's just that there have been readers that have come to this thread, under the pretense that someone will try their favorite book, and they name what book they'd like someone to try in exchange for them trying DP (or BotD) and then they get no response for days, now if there are two people in this situation, I don't see the harm in letting them swap with each other if they're willing since it's apparant at that point that no DP reader is going to pick up the swap.
Perhaps these suggestions are just getting lost in the shuffle. Maybe you could compile a list of outstanding offers, that way there's an easy reference for DP readers to consult. And then if no DP reader wants to take up that offer, someone can suggest another book in exchange other than DP.
I fully acknowledge the purpose of this thread and I highly commend the efforts put forth, but if an offer isn't going to help DP because no DP reader chooses to pick it up (and I by no means blame DP readers for not accepting every suggestion put forth, not every book is for every reader), then I see no reason in letting that offer go to waste when it could potentially help other books.
Just my thoughts.

Manhunter is a great book.
Doom Patrol is ok but I read one issue and it didn't really hook me as I expected.
I don't know, the art was as usual, great, but the writing didn't capture me...

Tom, Doom Patrol has gotten a lot better since the first few issues. Check out these five star reviews for last month's issue, #7:

I've been trying to get She-Hulk fans to give Doom Patrol a shot. Presently we have just one swap here for She-Hulk. It would be reallly cool if you joined in, Tom.

#7 is a good issue, the start of a new story that conludes in #8.
Which issue of She-Hulk do you recommend?
Hey DP fans who have not participated here yet, give this one a shot. I hear nothing but good things about the new She-Hulk.

Paging Dave Rodriguez - please report to the Swap Shop....
So I want to thank Dave for the "Samurai: Heaven & Earth"
swap. The art is truly wonderful. I guess this is painted? The
facial expressions are so good I am wondering if there were
some human models used for the project. I don't mind if there
were - any way they get it done is fine by me. They really
capture the time and place
I was only supposed to pickup #1, but I bought both #1 and #2
to get a feel for where this is going as a series. I really like our
main character, who is the only surviving Samurai of a fallen
leader.
I missed "Iron Fist" and "Master of Kung Fu" as a kid. Never
really had an interest in any of the martial arts or their
characters. It was Frank Miller's "Daredevil" that introdcued me
to those topics. This style is different - the painting is ornate
and detailed yet it captures movement and action very well.
The two issues I read have stillness punctuated by bursts of
samurai action. It's also got some hot chicks - always a plus. A
great late teen/adult comic that I can recommend. I will be
picking up the next few issues to see where this is going.
After only two issues, I really like the pace of the story so far. It
is deliberate without being to slow. The art and storytelling
seem tonally matched for a great ride.
I would say my only beef is that the violence in this book may
be more graphic than younger readers are used to. This is a
personal thing of mine dicussed here in the forum. I am OK
with violence, but these are realistic renderings of
decapitations. The angels used cover up the gorey stuff - but
just barely. I would rather this had a "For Mature Readers" on it.
Otherwise, thnk you Dave R. for the great read and I hope you
enjoy Doom Patrol as much as I did your title!
