Peter, we did see new aspects of Nudge and the Chief in DP 7. In fact, all previous issues have revealed a bit more about the personalities and private challenges of individual characters.

Like you say a writer can't do everything in one issue (and as Brian pointed out, there's a great deal of story in just this one issue, compared to other current comics). I encourage you to pick up DP 8 to see more about the other characters.

I was on the fence over trying DP, I was a little disappointed with the JLA arc and am not familiar with the characters.  My comic store is selling issues 1-3 as a set.  I would be willing to pick that up or just issue 7, if someone takes a shot at Invincible by Image Comics.

Anyone want to take up this swap? Check out this review of Invincible:

http://www.ugo.com/channels/comics/features/invincible_eight isenough/review.asp

"Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker's mix of super hero saga, soap operay drama, affectionate homage, and gentle spoof, coasts along on one nigh irresistible ingredient: genuine charm. "

Okay Ron, pick up the latest issue of Doom Patrol and I'll pick up Invincible (what issue # is it up to?). I like Kirkman's 'Walking Dead' stuff, so I'm willing to give this a go. Are we on?

-  Still new to this posting stuff, but we are on, I will pick up Doom Patrol this week when I go in for new comics, I believe Invincible is up to #18, not sure off the top of my head.  I havent hooked up my internet at home yet, sorry for the delayed response.

I read my first two issues of Tom Strong, #29 and #30.  I enjoyed them quite a bit.  I will write a longer review in a couple of days after I read them a couple more times.  Very enjoyable action/science/Indy/ thing going on.

More later.

Anybody up for this swap? Here are some pretty good reviews :

Though it hasn't caught on, its rumored that DC will give this book a relaunch later on.

Don't be sorry Peter, different strokes as the cliche goes. I'm glad you tried the book out though. All I can ask anyone is to give the book a try, and for that I thank you. Hopefully my LCS will have my copies of WE3 waiting for me this week and I can give you my review.

Todd, that's great! It really makes me smile to know
that the trade did right by you!

Although I'm also a little embarrassed that I still
haven't gotten my copies of TS #30 and DP #7!

Blame my girlfriend -- she made me go with her to
her niece's birthday party on the day I normally hit the
comic shop.

Women! :)

Hi everyone,

I saw the post on CBR and thought it was a great idea. I've always been a fan of the Doom Patrol and this gives me a good reason to go pick up. So I will pick up 3 copies of Doom Patrol. (different issues..:) in exchange for anyone picking up a copy of Starkweather. Including requesting it if the store doesnt carry it..:)

Thanks!

Welcome aboard Dave. I have a question for the mods though: because Dave is the creator of Starkweather, would his participation violate the "no self promotion" rule on this forum? If it does, perhaps Dave can see if any of his fans would be interested in participating instead.

Oops, didn't think of that. Tell you what. I will retract my earlier suggestion, and allow someone else to do so. I don't want to make a problem..:)

The offer however still stands. I will pick up three DP's if someone tries out Samurai Heaven and Earth, Cool?
