As for the credit, it makes sense to leave it in all three places since, in theory, another name could appear in the "author's credit box" on this title or even the cover art. Each place means something different.•• The only time it would "make sense" would be if, indeed, it was another name. If I stepped away for an issue, and a guest tearm took over the book, it would make sense to cite their names on the cover. It would even make sense if there was a guest inker, to list my name and his/hers. But that's not likely to happen, and as long as JOHN BYRNE'S NEXT MEN is written and drawn by John Byrne, with covers by John Byrne, it is, at the very least, redundant to also have it as an author's credit on the cover.

Historical context (and..."texture") is certainly one of JB's main strengths, isn't it? Whenever he does a period piece, we're in for a big hit.

It looks like Tony will continue to be an integral part of the story. I'm glad.

24 bucks is way too cheap for a John Byrne sketch (of any kind). I called it earlier in the thread that many online retailers would have to allocate their orders at that price unless they were selling thousands of regular copies to keep up with the demand. I have to assume that is why DCBS has cut off preorders early for the sketch cover. ****** I missed the DCBS offer when it was available. Does anyone know of other places selling the sketch cover at a good price?

Sixteen pages into the second issue, now, and it really is an odd experience to be seeing on paper the beginnings of these storylines that have been stuck in my head for so long.Mentioning Tony brings up a good example. She has a MAJOR part to play in the first arc, something I have been preparing for her almost since the series began. She and Jazz are really the stars of the book, in my mind, and these final issues (however many there turn out to be) will underscore that. Not that anyone else is going to get short changed!
