JB, Does it feel different returning to your own creation than it does to a character you have worked on before at Marvel or DC???

Here's another "Bad Byrne Story": I bought the entire run on Ebay several years ago. I opened up the box and started reading them, intending to only read the first few, then go to bed. Well, I ended up reading the entire run in one sitting, by about 4am. It was so late that I ended up arriving at work a few hours late the next day!

I just placed my monthly comics order with DCBS. Which includes JOHN BYRNE'S NEXT MEN #1! The arrival date is nearly here....

Anthony, trust me - it was a good Byrne story! The decision to ditch school was my own, and I don't regret it!

Will have to stop by my (almost*) LCS later this week and put in an order now then. Everything looks like so much fun.
* The only "real" LCS in Göteborg went belly up earlier this fall (and had stopped taking new orders already this spring). However, a book store which specialises in speculative fiction and which also carries TPBs and the like since before (as well as some comics) has taken it upon themselves to step up to the plate and cover at least ordering customers for regular comic books, so hopefully there'll be no problem for me getting this.

My hope is that not only will JB be able to finish his story but also that while continuing his story he'll think of even more stories to tell with these characters. He says he can go to around fifty issues. I hope for a hundred. One can dream.

DCBS has 4-5 listings for Next Men 31/1 at quite startling price points ($0.99, $1.99, $4, $12, $24). Are there variant covers planned?

Since I'm currently re-reading all my JBNM collection I remember John answering a fan in the letters' page where he said he had stories up his his sleeve for at least 50 issues and as long as he didn't get bored of the characters and the series sold he'd continue writing it. Sounds to me he's not breaking his promise. Which couldn't make me more happy.
