Ooo - good to hear there's an introduction to the new hardback.  I always like your intros, JB!

I still can't find hardbacks 2 and 3 in the bookstores.  I think I'm going to buckle and just order them from amazon.  I should be doing it anyway to obviously save money, but I've never bought a JB book online as  like to support the local shops.  And, frankly, I didn't want to ruin my streak!

So, you win again, Internets.  I'll order the books online, but I will be shaking my fist at the computer screen when I do, saying "Curse you, Internets!"

Can't wait for Next Men AND Jurassic Park! I finished up my JBNM re-reading about three weeks ago, and so naturally had to jump onto something else, so I went ahead and re-read Babe and Babe 2, and just finished Danger Unlimited.

I remember back then really enjoying Babe, and thinking Danger Unlimited was just okay. What a dolt I was... I can only wish that if JBNM does well, that IDW will request that JB do more DU. One can wish. Hard.

It had to happen: I re-read 2112! Wow, what a blast from the past (or should I say 'future'?)

It hasn't aged a bit. I especially like all the references to the 'trigger gene' and the Next Men when the title hadn't even come out yet.

I like this future world described as a post ecologically devastated planet (artificial ozone, artificial air after the demise of trees), the references of the spreading of the gene like AIDS transmission, the discrimination felt by the 'halflings', the forgotten ones, the big conspiracy theory surrounding 'Safeguard'...

Environmental issues weren't as 'popular' questions as they are today. In a way that made John Byrne a visionary of things to come, exposing an 'inconvenient truth'.

So there'll be no number 31 (even hidden) on the cover ?

This is the most excited I've been about an upcoming comics release
since... I honestly cannot remember. I don't know that there was ever
a mainstream super hero comic with a greater degree of intelligence
and depth than Next Men. I was thinking of waiting until a month or so
before the release of the new issue to start rereading 2112 and NM 0-
30... but I think I'm going to have to get started right away.

Chris, do yourself a favor and start re-reading the whole series now: I re-read 2112 2 days ago and I re-discovered it as if it were the 1st time!

I'm currently interrupting my reading of recent comics to dive into Next Men again this week end!

Oh, definitely! I'll be getting started tonight. I've got "The Stack" primed
and ready to go. Already feels like old times.
