First issue is on October's IDW solicitations, yay!

••

Makes me nervous! I got my deadlines mixed up, and did three issues of JURASSIC PARK in a row, when I probably should have been doing a couple of NEXT MEN. As a result, working on the first issue, I am feeling crowded by the deadline. Mind you, it's the REAL deadline, I'm being crowded by, not my own (which is usually several weeks ahead of the read one), and a couple of issues back to back and I should be nicely ahead and ready for the fourth issue of JP --- but, still! I hate chasing deadlines, even when they're "safe" deadlines.

What is the official release date? I need to find a comicbook store by then (haven't been in one in years).

Was at my LCS today and even though it's not in Previews until next week, I told him to add Next Men to my pull list.

So excited!

I'm lucky in that the guys at my LCS automatically pull anything new by JB
for me whether I remember to tell them to or not.

Read the Premiere Edition Vol. 1 this past weekend. Hadn't read Next Men since it originally hit the stands. Loved 'em all over again. Gonna read the second hardcover this weekend!

And Jurassic Park has NOT been solicited yet. Oh, well!

------

Much to my amazement my copy arrived today.

At the end of JB's introduction, dated July 6 2010, he says IDW have told him that the current market is strong enough to bring back Next Men. Which is followed by "So I think I will". It's nice to actually see this on paper rather than on a screen. It makes it all the more real to me.

It also got me wondering how long ago it was that JB agreed to working on Next Men again.

Good news for IDW, JB and above all me! I found out the Chinese guy who used to take all my money in the 80's for comics is still active and can order still US comics for me. I thought he only sold translated version now. He wasn't aware of the NextMen relaunch, asked if it was a reprint, but another customer in the shop also knew about this. He put my name down for the monthly order.
I usually buy comics second hand but in this case, I really wanted to give my money to IDW and JB to support the new series. Great !
