The B&W versions were the last time I read the series.  The phonebooks are a great way to experience this series - the B&W really fits the story.

I feel lucky to have experienced this while it was coming out issue by issue.  Reading it in one shot reminded me of how this book would go to the top of the stack each month because I needed to know what was happening Next.

I often feel tempted to have extra copies of the phonebooks for safe-keeping. My only gripe is that they didn´t contain the original covers. Well, the Premium reprints needed to have something to differentiate them, I guess.

"Is there a story about the spelling of "compleat"?  I feel I'm missing something."

Darren answered in another thread: Compleat is an -old- version of and a variant on Complete.

Slightly more -- "compleat" is an old version that has the additional meaning of necessary or indispensable!

This is not just the complete NEXT MEN -- it's the NEXT MEN you cannot live without!!

Finding shoes that fit is going to become more and more of a problem for her as well.

Which makes her no different from every other woman on the planet...

Just read the issue where Bethany and Nathan fight Mandriller and She-Demon (man I want a comic with the Dollar Comics characters!) and one of the best scenes (out of many of the whole series) has to be when Bethany hair-swipes Mandriller's face.

Q for JB regarding Bethany's hair, when her hair does fall out, does it remain indestructible? Or does it die and eventually disintegrate?

Bethany would have more trouble than most.

Hi there,

Uh being absent from the forum for some time I'm back and what the hey???! When I read the title of the thread, for the umpteenth time I thought to myself: naaah that's just a hoax, a rumour...

And you know what, I still can't believe it... I've been waiting for JBNM to return for 15 years...

I missed JBNM so much that I had John draw me an OMAC vs Sathanas commission last year.

Then again, it's a dream come true. I still remember the year 1993 when John had come to an autograph session in a comic shop in Paris and he saw me so in love with his work on the series he'd revealed to me Sathanas & Aldus Hilltop were one and the same. I was bedazzled and compared John to Alfred Hitchcock for his mastery of suspense. I still got my 2112 copy signed...

A few months ago on the forum John mocked me because he wouldn't explain what "the end for now" met back then. I think I do understand now.

Holy freakin shoot, when I'm done writing this post I'm going to bed and am sure that in the morning it will have been a dream again.

Say it ain't so John, say it ain't so...

Du fond du coeur John: MERCI

Joss

I think the point about Bethany's hair, Moyer, is WHY would it fall off since it is indestructible.

Bethany's hair falls out just like anybody else's. As to what happens to it when it does. . . good question! And one I think I shall carefully avoid attempting to answer!

JB, you've always said that you were against the recaps at the beginning of current (Marvel) comics because every issue should be a "jumping on point for new readers". I couldn't agree more.

Yet, I remember that there was a "The story so far" at the start of every new JBNM issue.

How do you differentiate both "recaps"? (I don't mind either, mind you).

Thanks.
