There was some definite LCS sales clusterf*** going on around LAB RATS.   I still don't have a complete run of that series because I ran into such problems with a DIFFERENT LCS in a DIFFERENT TOWN.   This owner could not stop complaining because he got burned somehow ordering more issues than he wanted.   No, wait, he special back-ordered issues specifically for me and then I disappeared for a few months because of whatever was going on in my life at the time, too poor to afford a couple of $3.00 books for a while.   My own fault, I guess.

I wonder if the time travel plans JB has for the Next Men will allow for Danny's mother to make another appearance.

Here's a thought --- You should all know by now that I will not be revealing any of my plans, but if you keep making guesses, there is a good likelihood that you will hit upon some things just by chance, thus spoiling them for yourselves and others.

So, ixnay on the essesguay, okay?

My dollar for a Byrne comic is just as good as somebody else's for the latest "Bendis Masterpiece" or whatever crap they're shilling nowadays

••

Back during the Speculator Boom, I coined the term "Quality Dollars" to describe what some retailers seemed to be seeking. Somehow, it was apparently in their heads that a dollar made from, say, SPAWN or YOUNGBLOOD was "better" than a dollar made from NEXT MEN or DANGER: UNLIMITED.

There certainly were MORE dollars to be made from those other books, to be sure -- but in the end, a dollar was a dollar was a dollar. A happy customer was the real "quality" an intelligent retailer would be after.

…I have not been in a comic store in a while, it's too far to drive to on a regular bases.

••

And some people wonder why comics are dying!

---
During the last year or so I've seen one local book store stop selling comic books and Ultimate Comics go from four Triangle stores to two. I fear shrinkage!

I am lucky- I live in Portland Oregon, a very comic book friendly city.

My local comic book store (Floating world) is very friendly, orders & holds all of the items from my want list, and on the occassion that I have forgotten to add a Byrne title to my list, surprise, they put the comic aside for me

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

Thanks for the last word, John. I am not sure I will be able to place it for a scrabble, tho.

More seriously, my CBS owner is a very nice guy, and he orders all what I ask ( well, excepted that 2010 J.Scott Campbell calendar! Damn! ). And especially all Byrne related titles. I have nothing to fear when JBNM finally reaches the shelves.

It cannot be soon enough.

Time to read again my 2 phonebooks.
