Jazz is probably my favorite Next Man. (It's hard for me to be absolutely sure because I really like them all.) I was just trying to decide what scene featuring her has the most emotional impact for me when I read it _______________________________________I agree. So many incredible scenes in that arc. There was one page that was so subtle, it started with wide shots and gradually moved in to a bedroom window, and then closer we see Jazz laying in bed, and then closer still we see she's crying. I won't spoil the story by saying why she was crying but it was such a gut punch. Truly amazing storytelling.

There are so many moments that are lost to my memory. Going to have to re-read everything!

Question. Did Nathan and Jasmine's . . . hook-up happen while they were prisoners of Ignis in Russia? That story had so much shock value to it. For me, reminiscient of JB's finest Science Fiction tales from Fantastic Four.

I am sorry if this has been answered, but when can I see Next Men in my local comic shop? I went in and asked the guy working and he didn't know.

Mr Byrne,
This is indeed the best belated news that I've read today! :) Like many of your fans, I too have been waiting patiently for this day to happen. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that I was still in university when you decided to suspend the series.
To date I've got both of the Next Men B&W phonebooks, some of the old printed issues and issues #0 - #6 in my iPhone IDW app.
Thanks for bringing back the Next Men!

Wasn't there an issue with the name at one time? I always wondered what the story behind it was. Did Marvel really think Next Men was too similar to X Men?

Jazz went through SO much it's hard not to feel closest to her. I find myself most curious about Jack, though.

Jodi - I initially quoted December but from re-reading some posts I think I was projecting my wish onto memory. The correct answer seems to be - don't know. Cannot wait, best bit of comics news I've heard in a loong time. This and Joss Whedon directing Avengers makes me a happy man indeed.

Jodi, December was the month announced. However, that means it will not be available for preorder with your comic shop for another two months. They are currently doing preorders for October releases. Until it appears in Previews most LCS won't know what you are asking for.

Just some more musings... in preparation for new JBNM, I have like a lot of you been re-reading the series during the past week (up to issue 7 now - the costume issue) and wow this series just brings back so many memories. I was living in San Diego when JBNM started, and me and my fellow comic-book nut, Bill Benecke used to mountain bike to our favorite shop, then bike to various parks/trails in the area and read and discuss comics for hours and hours on end.
The best times were had jumping right to the the letter columns and reading JB's responses (and of course Flame) out loud and just having a great dialogue about comics and the awesome art from JB. I remember Bill really loving the look of Control/Willis Duccamen (sp) and geeking out over issue 4's cover with David... something about the coloring of his eye looking down on Bethany and Jasmine, and the pile of skeletons just looked so cool!
I usually have a stack of comic books on the back of the toilet (ahem) and most of them from the past few weeks. The top of the stack the past week has been two or three issues of JBNM. My partner, who could give a rats ass about comics said to me out of the blue "Those comics are different. Are they new?" I just chuckled and said it was a series from one of my favorite creators.

Just using this as an opportunity to mention the Next Men FAQ. These are the kinds of questions, and more, that are answered by compiling the most asked questions of the series so far. You can get to it by clicking through the thread in the Announcements section at the top of every forum or by going to the Forum Jump drop down menu at the bottom of every page.
