Ouch! That's rubbing it in!! Just kidding - it's a thing of beauty. I do have an autographed hardcover of "Danger Unlimited" from that vintage, and I have used it in many a bragging jag.

I don't think Dark Horse was able to provide IDW with the B&W artwork for 2112.•• Correct. ---- Thought as much. Shame, I was looking forward to seeing it in all it's glory.

Too bad about 2112. I don't know what happened but it didn't look right to me the first time it was printed. The colors were way too dark and the art looked like it was reduced too much or something. I was really hoping to see it in b/w in an over sized edition at some point.

Reproduction issues aside, I still think the phonebooks are a great deal.

So was I! And as to the reduction of the art, your perception may be related to the fact that the pages were drawn on "graphic novel" art boards, which are slightly larger than traditional art boards.
I was able to pick up one of those 2112 hardcovers on eBay about 10 years ago. The Next Men illustration on the signature plate is the same one used here.
While we're on the subject: Back in 1992, JB wrote a lengthy letter to Comics Buyer's Guide describing the origins and development of 2112 and how it led, indirectly, to Next Men. This was in response to an interview with Stan Lee in Previews in which Stan presented his recollection of the same events. I kept the letter and eventually "transcribed" it for posterity, as it was a fascinating look behind the scenes of this project. I'd like to post the letter here, if it's OK with the host.

Well, this brought me back. I haven't posted on the forum for a looong time and haven't been reading comics for over a year now. But if the Next Men are back then so am I. This is SO awesome. It's been over a decade hasn't it? I'm so anxious for the continuation of this story. Wheeeeee!!!

Ravage was what Stan built from his parts of the aborted Futureverse project he and I were doing together, before I discovered that Marvel had no intention of honoring the promises they'd made to him.

I'd have to say the thing I'm most anxious to find out is who the time traveler in the dark armor was.
JB, I think I recall at one point there were thoughts of another GN similar to 2112 (like 2115 or something). Any thoughts on doing that as well?
