Sathanas's armor is not necessarily the same set throughout the entire loop. It is likely that in all of the intervening years, he has had repairs, parts replaced, or even the entire set "improved upon" from more "primitive versions." If there was an original iteration, there would have to have been an original set.

Hence the neverending question that finds no answers: was there a "first iteration" ??? Then that means, oh my Gosh, not again, another unsolvable time-travel question ... my head's going to explode!

"This is my other question. How does Cornelius Van Damme know that Thomas Kirkland is coming from the future with a bomb to blow up the White House in an attempt on Sathanas's life, creating the perfect opportunity for him to step in at precisely the right moment in Mark Ivey's body and take over the Presidency? Is it possible that Kirkland's Uncle Silas found a way to feed information back through time to Cornelius, who is either his ancestor/relative or his earlier self?" Francis, I'm curious...what makes you think CVD knew anything at all about Kirkland? My understanding was the CVD's plan was to use Amanda to get that meeting with Hilltop and then kill him and replace him. While the timing was certainly fortunate, he didn't indicate anything in his actions or words that indicated precise timing to try to be there at a particular moment (of course, I may have missed something).

Healing to the extreme?

An "easy" question now: in the Next Men universe, who came up with the name 'Sathanas'?

Joel: Wow. That is probably the correct interpretation. I have already seen flaws in my own reading of the story, either making assumptions or completely missing the point when it's not spelled right out. With the way the timing worked out, I guess I assumed it must have somehow been planned perfectly that way. Once I read 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, & then 0, I'll go back again and re-read the final issues again to see if there is anything to my original interpretation.

Nathan: That is an awesome, awesome panel. Superlatives cannot do it justice. Excellent choice.

One of the things that struck me re-reading 2112 was the scene when the troll-like mutate with the extremely large hands kills the two transporting guards upon their arrival on Apollyon (spelling?). But, he wasn't supposed to kill them because Sathanas wanted them alive! Man, there must have been hell to pay for that dude! That's Sathanas's food source!

One of the other things I noticed is the differences between how Sathanas uses his power in 2112 versus in JBNM. He exercises greater control in 2112 than he is shown to exhibit in JBNM. In JBNM, he invariably leaves his victims in a stage of advanced age, but still with flesh on their bones. In 2112, he takes a small snack, taking only five years off a mutate's life, and he seems to disintegrate the flesh of Klaus completely, leaving only bone. At least two possible interpretations there I see. Either his circumstances in JBNM simply do not compel him to vary his choices about how he uses his power, or he is in his "prime" in 2112 and can exercise greater control at that time than he is able to do in JBNM.
