I know IDW likes to do variant covers for their books. Maybe the original #31 cover could serve as that alternate? I really want to see that cover see print.

••

Technically, it has, on a French(?) collection. Which made no sense, of course, since the scene was not in any of the issues!

GREAT GREAT GREAT!!

Mr. Byrne, do you anticipate any difficulties "jumping into the story" after all this time? Have this kind of situation (picking up a storyline several years after you've dropped it) ever occurred to you?

Thanks!

This is a first, and I was a bit wary going in. I was sort of afraid / would have to read all the back issues!!

But, I sort of calmed down and let myself drift around the stuff, and bit by bit the pieces started to come back together. In fact, I even found a place to use something that had occurred to me only recently, but seemed to have no "home". I realized one of the subplots of NEXT MEN would be much better served by this new idea than by what I had planned originally.

Odd. But it has me curious to find this collection.

Note to self, learn to read French.

JB, have you completed any issues yet?

That is very strange that the original cover to #31 was on a French volume.  May be worth tracking that down.

JB, I can not say enough how excited and pleased I am to be seeing the NEXT MEN again.  Is there a special reason/story as to why now is the time it is coming back?

I have said for years that I was waiting for the marketplace to recover enough that I felt I could bring the book back without it sinking without so much as a ripple. I fear that -- the marketplace recovery -- is never going to happen, so when Chris Ryall said "How about NEXT MEN?" for the 437th time, I said "Okay."

Clearly I am never going to be able to put these stories anywhere else, and I need to get them out of my head!!!

For a December release? Even / don't work THAT far ahead!

I should be starting the first (31st) issue after I finish the second JURASSIC PARK, some time early/middle of next month.

JB, I know you have stated in the past that you have about 20 some more issues to tell. Now looking at Next Men with fresh eyes do you think the series could go longer?

If this series is a success, which I expect it to be, maybe you would consider bringing back Danger Unlimited and Torch of Liberty.
