Boy, I sure am glad that no Republicans got any death threats over an unpopular policy decision that went against the will of a vocal segment of society. No angry mobs in the streets chanting threats and slurs and burning figures of effigy. No violent riots. No campaign office windows smashed. No movies filmed or books written suggesting the president should be assassinated, right in the very title of the piece.

Yes, the previous eight years were absolutely pacific, right up until these tea bag haters started holding their peaceful assembles minutes after Obama got elected...

Getting back to the new healthcare law, if you have a HSA or FSA you will no longer be able to purchase over-the-counter medicines (asprin, pedialite, etc...) without a perscription using your account without incuring additional tax on the purchases starting next year.

http://docs.house.gov/energycommerce/REVENUE.pdf

DISTRIBUTIONS FOR MEDICINE QUALIFIED ONLY IF FOR PRESCRIBED DRUG OR INSULIN Conforms the definition of qualified medical expenses for HSAs, FSAs, and HRAs to the definition used for the medical expense itemized deduction. Over]the]counter medicine obtained with a prescription continues to qualify as qualified medical expenses. The provision is effective in 2011.

Someone Please show me where liberals attacked a man with disabilities at a rally or protest, because if you can, I will condemn it.

Show me where on the left when we are protesting the war, we bring guns to the protest, because if you can, I will condemn it.

Show me where a liberal flew a plane into a govt building in protest, because if you can,  I will condemn it.

Show me where a republican with a child in the car, was ran off the road for having a Bush Bumper sticker, because if you can I will condemn it.

Show me where gun purchases by liberals went up, when Bush or any republican  got elected, because if you can, I will condemn it.

Show me where democrats had facebook pages with gun sights over maps marking out elected officials they disagree with, encouraging people to stop these guys.

This crap of "hey the dems have done the same thing" is bullshit and the closest thing I can even remember was the anti war protests of the sixies, and this was done by kids of both parties, protesting a war they were being sent to fight and possibly die in.  This is the absolute worst behavior I have ever seen in my life by a political party.

No one said any such thing and you know it. Instead of refuting the claims Jodi and Mike are making, this is the tactic you use?

I don't give a shit what any of you on the right say, I have never seen this much hatred of a President in my lifetime. And you have a few people on a national "news" network fanning tha flame with incessant talk about socialism, naziism, communism, and any other -ism they can think of. My father is 62 and sayd it's out of control. And he's lived through a few Presidents.

Did this stuff happen to Bush, Clinton, Bush, etc. Of course. But not on the scale of Obama and every single one of you know it. Death threats over a health care bill? Running people off the road because of their political views? Are you fucking kidding me? These people are coming to rallys with guns, they're carrying around signs with racist remarks and you know what, it's not a joke anymore. It's not a punchline on the Daily Show. But what do you expect when Repub lawmakers are showing such contempt for the other side? What do you expect when they shout "You lie!" at the President and "Baby killer!" at a rep? It's sickening and every one of you should be ashamed.

In the meantime, though, I feel pretty safe to say to Mike Benson that we seem to have considerably fewer have nots than you.  And quite confident that the numbers would back that up.

You also have a population of 30 million to our 300, give or take.  So I would too assume that was true.  Though I have not seen any good data concerning this so it's just an assumption on my part.

And Puck does indeed rule.  I was being mischievous.

I meant as a percentage of population, Mike.

More signs of the upcoming Civil War...

Anthony Weiner - Anthrax?

Dick Grayson's 5 year old threated with death

More "isolated incidents", I'm sure.

Well here is some good news you won't see on FOX

Among the banks that rule Wall Street, Citigroup got a bailout that was bigger than the rest. Now the company is about to pay a king's ransom for its federal rescue.

The Obama administration is making final preparations to sell its stake in the New York bank, according to industry and federal sources.

At today's prices, the sale would net more than $8 billion, by far the largest profit returned from any firm that accepted bailout funds and the transaction would be the second-largest stock sale in history.

And how lucky you and I are to get that care.

Mike,I'm not lucky. If I was lucky I would not have epilepsy. It's not always about luck. My wife works hard for her benefits. As I'm sure you do too. She went to school and worked very hard for what we have. We budget our money. Very few nights out and such. We sacrifice for what we have. How many people who don't have insurance don't have it because they did not take advantage of the educational opportunities offered in this country. If you drop out, get knocked up as a teen or have more kids than you can afford you're almost guaranteed to screw up your life.  How many people who have no coverage have cell phones, cable,Internet and spend their money on other things that are not necessities instead of insurance. I realize this is not all people and I believe those people who need help should get help. I'm just skeptical weather this new system will work.

The reason I posted what I did about my doctor is that I worry when or if this health care stuff does not work the way it's suppose to I think the politicians might need a new bad guy and the doctors are going to be it. I can easily see the politicians saying things like" Look at the obscene profits the doctors are making." I coincide I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong. I have honest reasons I believe what I do. I'm far from a dip shit as you called me. Just a skeptic. I believe we should be a little skeptical of what politicians say. No matter what party they belong to

I guess I should have read more of the posts before posting what I did, but as I said I was just responding to a post I read.

but as I said I was just responding to a post I read.

---

And, speaking as the person who's post you responded to, apparently taking the time to completely re-interpret my meaning and to put words into my mouth. I don't appreciate the fact that because I don't believe healthcare should be about maximizing profits, somehow that means I believe doctors should not get paid, or that they should be paid inadequately.

If I break my leg and go to the doctor, there's the cost of the x-ray, the cost of the nurses to assist me, the cost of the equipment, the electrical bill for the hospital, the cost of the doctor... whatever. There are costs necessary so my leg isn't set and put in a cast in the dark, by a person who has no idea what they're doing, without adequate pain killers etc. That's COST.

PROFIT is where someone looks at that cost and says "why don't we charge more to make money off of this deal?" The COST goes up if the doctor gets a raise. The COST goes up if new equipment needs to be purchased over time. But nobody should be MAKING MONEY above COST. Are you saying you'd prefer a system where a doctor signs a contract for 200k a year, but gets an 8 million bonus if their hospital pulls in extra funds by charging more for band-aids, CT scans, T3's, etc? If I'm in the waiting room and I need a wheelchair to sit in, should I be charged 5 bucks an hour to rent it while waiting so the doctor can pocket an extra 30 bucks while I wait for 6 hours?
