Jodi,

Having read that "last words manifesto" in full and taken some time to digest it in light of today's events in Austin, you've got the ramblings of a broken man, whose narcissistic sense of self-importance clearly led to his downfall and the death of two innocents. Prime examples of narcissism from his post: the tax code was amended to get HIM, 9/11 was a personal inconvenience to HIM, misuse of HIS tax money, and so on.

What struck me most was his likening himself to the apocryphal Wall Street stockbrokers who leapt from their windows in the wake the 1929 crash. A single man stepping out of a window to his demise does not seek to take anybody with him as he goes to meet this maker. A man crashing his airplane into a building almost certainly does.

Frankly, Jodi, I don't know how you make Joe Stack the poster child of the Tea Party Movement any more than I could suggest Biology Professor Amy Bishop is representative of all Obama supporters. Indeed, the pair has much more in common with each other: two well-educated individuals, both with an overly-developed sense of self-importance, whose misdirected anger and rage at their own failures brought direct harm to innocent victims whom they felt were part of the forces conspiring against them.

Lee,

I'm doing my absolute best here to not interpret "fart left" and "bug business" as Freudian slips, but I'm failing... If you bring up the Republican rump caucus I'm going to lose it!

From the manifesto/suicide note...
"The recent presidential puppet GW Bush and his cronies in their eight years certainly reinforced for all of us that this criticism rings equally true for all of the government."

Yeah, that sure sounds like a tea party person.

Jeff but isn't that what the tea party people are saying, they weren't upset with just Obama, that they were building the anger while Bush spent like crazy? Fox makes a ton of money because they have tapped into a group of people that are upset and they are feeding that anger. When you stir up people and get them angry, something bad is going to happen. O'Reilly did it with that abortion doctor and the fox promoted tea party I believe, had an impact with this event.

Jodi, you've been one of the ones saying that the tea party people are there because they are racist and against Obama.  Does "why weren't they out protesting when Bush was President?" ring a bell?

Given the rant against GW Bush, it would seem that Joseph Stack was more a watcher of Chris Mathews and Keith Olbermann than Glenn Beck.

I don't know Jodi. It seems like this guy is just an all around nut. He seems to blame anyone and everyone for his failings.
