 |  Love the effect of the torch light, the expression on his face and the sense of swinging movement created by the tie and the overall body-posture. Do the pipes in the background spell something out? Spirah? Or am I seeing things? edited to add: doh! Spirit!

          I know nothing at all about The Spirit other than he was created by Will Eisner, but I know this commission is excellent.  Love the backgrounds.  Is there any significance to the gloves?  I'm wondering if there's an arch-enemy just off-page.
