Question for people who were around then. Did DC change after being bought by Warner Brothers?

"Unfortunately, it's speculation based on corporate history."
JB said everything here.

It's gonna be a while before we see any changes. An antitrust review and approval by Marvel shareholders has to happen before the purchace can be done. Info on plans for existing deals here (hope I post the link right - first timer): http://www.marketwatch.com/story/disney-marvels-existing-dea ls-to-stay-in-place-2009-08-31?siteid=yhoof2

I don't know. When Disney bought CrossGen, it was already a failing company. Shutting down their publication arm might've made a certain amount of fiscal sense. Marvel, I believe, is doing at least marginally well on the strength of its publishing, and I don't think Disney is in the habit of cutting off revenue streams.
I'd like to think that Disney will do something similar to what WB does for DC, and simply keep Marvel Comics going as a means of retaining copyright on their licensed characters (although that's not going as well as WB had planned, what with the Siegel suit).
I wonder if this development will affect things such as the Universal Orlando attraction with all the Marvel characters. I don't think Disney's going to handle having a competitor's theme park utilizing characters that they own very well.

When scaled against real world publishing, Marvel reads as exactly what it is: shrinking returns based on a shrinking audience base.
