I thought Shooter did a great job during his recent run on Legion of Super-Heroes. Unfortunately, it sounds like his relationship with DC ended on a acrimonious note for whatever reason, but he wrote some of the best stories of his career, in my opinion.

You know what I'd like to see JB on? A revival of The Occult Files of Doctor Spektor. That would be more interesting than seeing him on any of the Gold Key superheroes, in my opinion.

A Magnus/Turok team-up would be something!

Brian, I was just thinking about how cool Doctor Spektor was just the other day. This is a property that definitely needs reviving.

@Brian & @Bruce:

I am glad that the good Doc may well see life again through this new arrangement at Dark Horse, instead of seeing it possibly pulled into the Project Superpowers thing (as he'd be just the sort of property for such a corner). Don't get me wrong, I like much of Alex Ross and (especially) Jim Krueger's work, but I wish their whole imprint there were far more organized than what it is. Not to stray off topic too much, but I wonder if the current deal announced at SDCC regarding the Fighting American might result in that character not only entering the "new" universe, but becoming the focal point to bring it all home. It would help, as would attracting experienced master craftsmen like you know who to be involved in the mix.
Say what you will about Shooter, but at least he is organized. Generally.
But what do I know?

Shooter NOT being involved in comics whatsoever = greatest thing ever.

Still, you gotta admit...during his reign there was a LOT of great stuff getting published by Marvel. Obviously I know nothing (cut & paste!) about what goes behind the scenes like JB does, but from the outside he appeared to do a lot of good back then.

From an outsiders perspective, Shooter did a lot of good things for Marvel during his first 4 - 5 years, but I think that by the mid-late 80's he had kind of lost touch with a lot of things that DC seemed to pick up more on.

It would have been interesting to see Dick Girodano as Marvel's EIC from around 1985 onwards.

I agree. Some of my favorite (and very good) comics were published during his time as EIC. I can't say as much for JQ's reign (at least in regards to favorites).
