I also love Blevins's work. The NM actually looked like kids.He was a perfect fit for that book.

A dweeb?  I haven't heard someone called that name in a long time.  Like I am back on the playground or something.

Yeah!  How often do you hear that now?

Eric, I have found that when people are posting on their favorite creator's board, they tend to post what the masses on said board want to hear.  This is not exclusive to this board or Mr. Larsen's.  This does not mean we are all sycophants to our favorite comics professionals.

However, there is one message board that seems to be full of them.  I won't name the writer, but he tends to get, um, "wordy" in his books.

Speculate about this person if you want, but please refrain from guessing a name.

Thanks.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot: Calling someone a "dweeb" means you listen to Flock of Seagulls and Haircut 100.

I have no idea the context of Paul's dweeb comment. He doesn't post here often but he is a very vocal supporter of JB on the comiccon boards.

Having seen Paul S.' comments on newsaramicon from time to time, I suspect that supporting JB is not his actual goal....

I think that is unfair to say to someone. You understand that there are many factors that leads to the cancellation of books and that waiting is not the only thing, right?

Have you considered asking why someone waited for the trade in all instances? Do they need gas money? Do they want to go on a date with their girlfriend? Was there something just more interesting or better to them that particular month that BotD had to wait?

Hyper-sensitive much? I specifically asked you this question: "any reason you didn't just buy the issues in your hands if you thought it looked good?" If the reason was lack of funds, that's completely valid. (But even so, you never answered that question. You just provided hypotheticals.)

Low sales lead to cancellation. People who "wait for the trade" instead of supporting a monthly book contribute to low sales, and therefore contribute to its cancellation. OF COURSE it's not the only factor, but it is one of increasing importance.

I thought his first work was HAWK & DOVE for DC. Was it not?

Arc, does anyone care?

I went to the King's Island amusement park in Ohio about 20 years ago.  I spent a great day riding roller coasters, eating junk food, etc. when I came across a young caricature artist who had a sign on his easel that read: "Remember: Rob Liefeld may not be the best artist, but he's a horrible writer as well."

Interesting side note - Peter David was there signing Star Trek books.  We had a nice conversation regarding Todd McFarlane's claim of being the sole creator of Venom.

<<any reason you didn't just buy the issues in your hands if you thought it looked good?>>

Because the trade is much cheaper than buying individual issues.
