This is why you fall for things that Larsen says... no ability to think outside the box.... believe everything you are told, take everything at face value....

maybe, just maybe, I have posted here before... get a clue dude.

I will back off this thread unless Larsen comes back with some poorly thought out "excuse" for posting here.

EL On JBF: this is a great site, with comic loving fans... no BS

EL on Erik's board: posting on JB is pointless, JB is flawed, deletes posts, etc... horrible experience....

So which is it Larsen?"

Bored now.

I posted it on my board at the same time--and I said at the beginning of
my rant that it wasn't aimed at any particular artist. That you assume that
I'm taking about anybody says more about you than it does me.

_++++++++++++++++++++++_

Exactly, Larsen... the mere fact that you have to begin a post with a disclaimer stating "this is not about one artist" means that you KNEW in advance that it could be construed as a post directed at one artist.

Couple that simple fact with the fact that the quote "your older stuff is better" is a common topic that is brought up (negatively about JB) indicates everything to me.

Can you please just step off? You have mentioned, in writing, how (in your opinion albeit presented as fact):

-flawed and biased JB is

-how his current work doesn't appeal (or "mean shit") to you

-how editors don't want to work with JB (he "isn't worth it")

-posting here is a nuisance; your posts get deleted, altered, etc

For any one of those reasons, why don't you just stop posting here??

Frank, if you can dispute any of the points Scott is making about what Erik said, then you go right ahead.

Who is Scott O' Malley?  I would guess Rod Odem using yet another pseudonym, but I think he would be bored of this by now.  I don't buy the long time lurker bit, he's too informed and too active now.

So Larsen, if JB's current work is unappealing and doesn't mean shit to you, but you also declare yourself to be a "big Byrne fan" (on this board, not on your own, of course).... wouldn't that kind of imply that you think Byrne's old stuff is better in your opinion (presented as fact).

If you believe in your opinion (presented as fact) that JB's older stuff is better, than logically, your initial post, whether intentional or not, WAS directed at JB (and other artists you feel the same way about).

Couple with fact that on your board you state you feel there is no passion or excitement in JB's current work, and your post here states that staying passionate is one way to keep the new stuff as good as the old, then how are you NOT at least partially referring to JB (and other artists you have the same opinion about... opinions presented as facts, mind you).

"Most editors...most readers....most artists inspired by JB" I learned in 4th grade that someone who tells you what "most" other people think is NOT someone worth listening to.

(BTW, frank, I don't think this is the Omalley forum, but I guess I have taken over this thread.... but I really would like to see Larsen stop posting here then I can fade back into lurking obscurity)

Interesting comment, given that a quick review of your own posts suggest the majority of times you get the urge to type is when you can contradict someone.

As a Jehovah's Witness, weren't you taught that only he who is without sin should cast the first stone?

I'll leave that to you and the other crusaders, Wilson.

Guess I should use the ignore function (that list is getting pretty big)

I live in Cleveland OH.... Dark Phoenix is my favorite storyline... all the bits are there.... I will be honest although it will probably get be banned...

I posted here previously for a couple years under my real name Dan Burke.  I am very political and got into an argument with Al Cook. I regretfully swore at him and was rightfully banned for it.  This was about four months ago...I lurked occasionally until re-signing up.

So, after admitting that, I would like to still post here if an apology to JB and Al Cook is enough.... if not I understand.

Either way. please get EL out of here!

I only have this one user id, and Scott O'malley is my best friend which is why I used his name... Avon High School class of 1998!! Again, I hope to stick around, and can totally STFU, but if not I understand...

When I can contradict someone, or when I feel the need to contradict someone? As with Erik's posts, context is important.

Can you contradict someone without feeling the need to do so?

I don't see what Scott's doing wrong. He's posting stuff that Erik has posted on his own public forum.  Erik can defend himself and dispute whatever he feels Scott is getting wrong.
