FF #236 and "Too Many Dooms" are both great choices!

I've been re-boxing some old comics and came across a Fantastic Four cover, issue 276, that I'd forgotten about and was really struck by it.  Great Cover.

I like the new Angel:Blood and Trenches  cover to issue #2.
The likeness is perfect and you want to just pick the comic up by looking at all of the action.

While I stand by my pick (Action 586), I have to agree with the sentiment. I'm not usually one to gush, but if David Boreanaz ever runs out of mirrors, he can use these comics to shave.

Robert the over of FF236 is my choice and I have a cool story behind it. My friend was the editor for the Brazilian edition of Captain America (in fact a 84 pages comic with several Marvel heroes, not just the Cap) and I called him suggesting that he should use this cover in the Captain America edition 100, since it was a comemorative edition. I thought that he would choose another cover, since the Captain is not in the front, but he decided to use that. This is one of coolest things that ever happened to me when I was a teenager, I got to tell my friends, Hey, he choose this cover because I tipped him. Cool memory.

No one smiles in superhero funny books any more :(

FF #236 has to be my favourite, too. These are the heroes that made me fanatical about Marvel when I was 8!

How could I have not realized until now that Legends #1 is closely related stylistically to FF #259, my favorite JB cover?

Maybe because the FF #249/Superman cover connection (though it came later than Legends #1) got all the attention.

Anyway, Darkseid works just as well as Dr. Doom in the symbolic context.  (They are the top Kirby villains --meaning top bad guy, generally, too-- for each company.)

Btw, Brad, I have always loved FF #276's cover.  Proof that JB's art doesn't need color for impact.

Incidentally, for various reasons it took years before I purchased #277 and found out how that ultimate "nosy neighbor" story turned out!

I love the covers on the Assignment: Earth series. Really makes you want to open them up and read them.

FF 236 brings back a lot of good memories.  I vote for that one.

Looking at the Legends poster made me think about how different artists approach stretching characters.  Mr. Fantastic is never shown stretching his neck, where as Elongated Man almost every time you see him is.    Plastic Man too.  Funny how those stretches work.
