Mark - JB does not need the work but he yearns to work on Marvel
characters. And if he does want to do so its got to be by Marvel's rules. Its
their sandbox and their characters.

And if things are working and profitable now at Marvel - why change them
based on a silly challenge by a disgruntled ex-employee who was let go
years ago?? Makes no sense to me..JB should get on his knees and beg them
to take him back..luckily some writers like Slott may even consider too!

Marvel is a business, at the end of the day. They'd never "set someone up to fail", that's just insanity and disturbingly paranoid.

Tom Krevins - which Byrne books sell "under 10k"? Those from smaller publishers such as IDW, or those from DC? Because if you're referring to his DC work, it was selling quite a bit more than 10k, and if you're referring to his IDW work, that's kind of irrelevant because it's not one of the "big two". And to say "I guess with JB it's all about the money" contradicts everything else you've been saying, because although I'm not privvy to his IDW page rates, I'd care to wager that it's lower than a Marvel page rate, so if it were "all about the money" surely he'd go back to Marvel or DC, cap in hand?

And it's "Brevoort"... not "Breevort"...

Maybe I'm ignorant, and sorry for being an ass kisser, but reading most Byrne stuff, I've never gotten the impression he was mining anybody else's ideas or like I never went:"Oh yeah! That other person wrote this"...

Anyway, I don't care, I want a new JB written brand new super team monthly or WEEKLY, get on it someone with money!$$$!!!

The IDW and independant stuff sells under 10K - and lets face it if JB
could get work at the big two - he would not be working at IDW.

And his work at DC sold poorly based on the past - JB has mentioned
diminished expectations and he has fallen a loooooong way from his
million issue sales on man of steel - his return to action comics sold very
poorly (does anyone have the exact numbers?)

Its also interesting to note his 2nd action comics run broke a lot of his
challenge rules!

I think this challenge is his own way of going back hat in hand to
marvel..his ego wont let him do it any other way.

I also dont like it when JB constantly shills for commissions and talks about
how profitable they are - it really reinforces the bad byrne stories that he's
in it for the money.

Go play your games elsewhere then, if you don't like it...

"Its their sandbox and their characters."

I've seen this a number of times. When have these characters NOT belonged to Marvel?

Tom: • No recycling of 20 and 30 year old storylines
You built a career on this Mr. Byrne.

Tom, want to back this statement up with examples?

Chad your a cretin and a failed writer who trolls here and other boards.
Gte a real job sir.

Mark - rehashing old storylines - where do i begin?

His FF run featured the return of every old villain the book, he revisited
the skrulls as cows storyline, Galactus returns again, JB inserting himself
in the story like Stan and Jack did, etc etc

His Avengers run was about Immortus and the old tired Scarlet
witch/vision relationship and origin...all of Englehearts old plots...

JB is constatntly looking towards the past..nothing wrong with that but he
should not complain when others do it.

Tom, I know how hard it is for you, being so repressed.

I promise I will take you under my wing. I know you think about me saying that to you. And this is sort of a dream come true for you, I understand.

You need a man to make you feel better. It's difficult being where you are, I imagine. I'm a little busy these days, but I always make time for those in need.

I really appreciate having a real fan like you, a real fan, who understands me in the poignant way you do. It's not often we meet like-minded people in this world. I can protect you, and make sure no one ever hurts you again.

I promise, Tom. Solemnly. Be brave, son.

Oh Chad...your such a manly man...i feel your frustration at being a failed
writer...i dont understand it..but i feel it.

Your shyness...your self loathing...your low self esteem....the other kids
laughing at you...beating you up...childhood was rough...but your a big boy
now..its all good.

I wish you would stop whining on JB's board about your pipe dreams of
being a writer...stop shitting in JB's pool ok?
