Hey, in English reprints, do the heroes still send the bad guys off to GAOL (replete with different lettering
style) like they did when I was a kid reading the black and white ANNUALS?

Oh man, I had that story arc in the tabloid sized
reprint, I *loved* that when I was a kid - read it over
and over...I think it may be time to head over to ebay!

There was a time when I looked at Frank's Dark Knight Returns as something of a good "alternate universe" story using Batman's character. Maybe if he had just left it at that and not followed up with the anarchist screed that DK2 seemed to have become before it reached its conclusion, I'd have accepted that for standing on its own.
Now they're starting to get jumpy about the things that're being done with the characters in his All Star Batman and Robin. Apparently the problems with comics' marriage to Hollywood are starting to hit the fan and they're tripping and falling all over themselves trying to undo the damage being done to their characters and reputations. This profanity clap being the latest incident.
Then I look at what was done to the panel in Gerry's post above...
