Why does it have to be confusing? Put an "Adults Only" warning on the cover
(if they must insist on the insane practice of putting out a Batman comic
book that's "not aimed at kids").

••

Perhaps you don't recall that it was Frank who led the charge against this
idea when DC first lofted it something like 20 years ago. He called any sort
of labeling "censorship", which I maintained was preposterous. Labeling is
exactly the opposite of censorship.

"My plan is in the end we find out where that robot tyrannosaurs in the
Batcave comes from. We finally find out. That's plan. Unless of course I
get fired now."

To me, the last quote of the article clearly illustrates how much FM
doesn't get it. We don't need to know where it came from and I'd bet my
last button that FM isn't the right guy to tell it.

The robot dinosaur is from "Dinosaur Island", in BATMAN 35 (1946).

Which raises the question -- is this another example of Frank not doing his
homework (like making Alfred the old family retainer, or giving Catwoman
a new origin because he didn't know she already had one)?

Wow, so does that mean by 2013 when #18 is finally going to make it to the stands they'll have retitled it "F#@&in' All Star Batman"? (Without those silly symbols, of course. Wouldn't want someone to misinterpret the title)

I know people don't like Grant Morrison (I don't like FC) but at least his All Star Superman actually resembles the characters.

Typing that: I can't believe resembles the characters doesn't go without saying...

DC probably perceives AllStar as nothing more than an aberration that is making money. If they wanted all their books done this way, nothing could prevent them from doing so … and they would be making more money across the line.

Kinda makes you wonder why they’re not doing this.
