Oh, and hats off to James Henry. He put on a top notch con, with great
guests and excellent VIP treatment. It was worth the price of the ticket just
by going to the reception on Friday and Saturday night. Add to that all the
free swag and you can't beat the deal. I highly recommend the VIP ticket to
anyone thinking about doing MOC next year.

Good show, James. Take a bow.

Barring any family commitments next year, I should make it.  Hated to break my 15 year attendance streak, but your youngest brother only gets married once (right?)  Glad you all had fun!

I had a great time at the show!

What a great start for Bill & James.  I was glad to hear Roger's announcements throughout the show!  The man has a great announcer's voice.

Nice to meet Wayne and Joe Hollon for the first time!  Glad to see Paul and Dave Aikins again!  My daughter came home with most of the Dora books at Dave's table.

I was very happy to see an emphasis put on creators who work on "all ages" books.  I saw a lot of kids walking around with Mini Marvels and Tiny Titans books (and a lot of older kids, myself included, who were purchasing sketches from these creators).  There was also a great mix of creators from all eras of the industry!

My highlight of the show was the photo of myself and my daughter next to the "big Batman car!"

I hope everyone got a peek at that Alex Ross Dr. Doom vs. Darth Vader painting.  I had to pick my jaw up off the floor after seeing that one!

Looking forward to next year already!

I'm just back from Columbus and recovering from a fantastic, fun and exciting weekend. It's been great to get up to date on this thread and I'm really glad that you guys had such a good time at the show.

I have to say that I was thrilled with all our guests and especially impressed at how gracious our guests of honor were to the fans. For example, Alan Davis spent between 10 and 20 minutes sketching for every person in line. He made a lot of people very happy!

More later, but thanks for the positive feedback.

again!

Mark- Glad you got to see Dan's Alex Ross painting. Hell, glad I got to see it!
Dan has an incredible collection. His Perez pix are legendary!
Glad your daughter liked the books!

I had a great time at the con!  I spent a lot of time pouring through the boxes of back issues (Almost completed my Eternals collection!).  Spent the rest of the time talking to Roger Stern, Bob McCleod, Bob Corby and some other small press guys, and of course...Wayne Osborne.  I also attended the Christ Calremont pannel discussion.  He was very funny and introspective.  Hats off to James and all the guys who worked so hard to put this thing together!

I had an absolute blast talking with all the JBF guys and eating way too much pasta!  Gotta do it again next year!!

And Sunday I went to the Wooly Bear festival and saw Dennis Kusinich!!!  But that's another story....

Just back myself from an exhausting weekend. Friday night me and my friend went to King's Island for the Fright Fest and we didn't get back until about 3 in the morning on Saturday and I finally fell asleep about 5 a.m. only to get up at 9 a.m. to get to the show. I fell asleep apparently, just for a second, at Alan Davis' panel on Saturday and felt really, really bad though I heard everything. I have sleep apnea so when I get relaxed, I can zonk out fast. Humourous/embarrassing story aside it was a great weekend. I spent a good amount of time talking to Mrs. Stern with Chris Sprouse toward the end Sunday, which is my usual location on Sunday at MidOhio anyway. I was glad she remembered me and I taught her how to remember my name. I don't think her or Chris will forget... it's a joke I tell. I used to be Jewish with the initials J.C. and what other famous Jewish Carpenter had those initials? So when you think of me, think of Jesus Christ. LOL

I only wound up with two sketches though. I am on heart medicine now, part of what makes me sooooooo sleepy, and I was kind of out of it for the weekend. I got a new Captain Marvel from Chris and a Wonder Woman from Ethan Van Sciver. I'll post them later. I'm going to be scanning my sketches from the last few years when I get a day off so I can share them with folk. I'll post em here first.

All right VIPs, where are the pics with the Batmobile?!?!

This was totally cool.  I would've liked to sit in it and look around for a half hour if they would've let me.  My favorite part was the Bat-Fire Extinguisher!

Man, sounds like a great show.  Maybe I'll take a year hiatus from Baltimore next year and check MOC out.
