Wow! Sure! Thanks JB! It really wasn't any trouble at all.

…are you 19 years old Mister Byrne?

••

Only in my head. When I am feeling particularly mature!

Two pages to go on the first issue -- so despite myself, another sneekpeek!

As before, this is from the balloon placement guide.

These pages are fantastic.  Just curious how much time they take to draw vs the normal pencils and inking you would do.

A semi-amusing tale about that face at bottom left. As you can probably guess, this is a fairly significant character in the story. I spent some time working up what he would look like. Along the way, I also picked up some reference books on WWI, uniforms and vehicles and the like. Flipping thru one of them, a series of paintings of the different uniforms of the different fronts, I suddenly see that face. So close you'd think the artist had copied my doodles. And, even more amazing (or is that annoying?), the painted guy's uniform is exactly what I want for the character.

So -- conundrum. Do I use a different uniform? Do I come up with a different face? Or do I just bite the bullet and wait for somebody to stumble across the same reference and accuse me of "swiping"? What the heck! It would not be the first time I was accused of swiping something I hadn't! So I decided to keep the face, and use the uniform. The leather coat is my addition, tho!

I am so excited about this.  I don't know Angel at all, but the experimental process is more than enough to get me to buy it.  That page above looks fantastic.

EDIT to ask: JB, have you seen yet what a "finished" page will look like with the color treatment?

I'm not an Angel or Buffy fan, but that point of trivia won't stop me from buying into this series!

Not yet. Different avenues are still being considered.
