Came across this on ebay, an unused panel from the Avengers.

Hey, I was talking about this in another thread a little bit, but isn't that Doc Savage('s head) next to Wolverine on the bottom right hand side of the page(of the Marvel Age piece)?

Andy - Yeah, that's how Doc Savage was depicted by Marvel . DC did him with a more 'caucasian' skin-tone. He looks cool, and I also recognised him as Doc Savage straight away.

Sad thing about that Hembeck page -- the number of
dimwits who read it and think it's TRUE.

I think I broke my neck trying to read that Hembeck page. ;-)

I remember reading that strip when it first came out in "Marvel Age." Thanks for posting it, Gerry!

And, in case some of you don't already know it, that picture with the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Avengers that Gerry posted comes from "The Art of John Byrne."

That Marvel Age piece that Gerry posted was first used in the 1978
Spider-Man calendar. I had posted it somewhere on this thread already
but here it is again.
