 QUOTE:
Speaking of Manga, haven't they had more success with sports comics over in Japan?

Yes, there are a lot of popular sports comics in Japan. Eyeshield 21 (American football) and Major (baseball) are both excellent series still running at the moment.

JB - you had mentioned in thread in the Sports section that it was a bi-monthly title...were you contracted for the whole year or was it a "per strip" situation, i.e., do they have to pay you for the 4 strips you would have done?

Best wishes to Mr. Kupperberg in his job search!

I knew nothing of this!!!

JB, may I ask: What are all of the projects you currently working on? I seem to be missing out on some of these smaller assignments and it's making me CRAZY!!!

Sorry to hear about this. I thought the two strips shown were fantastic.

So kids don't read comics. I guess I better keep my son away from mine. He might explode or something.

What are all of the projects you currently working on?

••

If by "currently" you mean in the pipeline… three more STAR TREK related
projects for IDW, not including ASSIGNMENT: EARTH. Plus a possible fourth
a bit further down the road. Also, I continue to work on CITIZEN ZERO as
the mood strikes.

The only "sports" series I've ever considered worth buying.

That is so silly of WWE. Their "product" is basically superheroes.

The WWE did another attempt at doing comic book stories in the early 90's. Valiant comics produced a line for them. If you ever find them, pick them up for the Steve Ditko art. I'm pretty sure the inker redrew the faces to capture the likeness of the wrestlers. But it is pretty cool seeing The Undertaker battle The Big Bossman in a style that could only be drawn by Ditko.

JB's stuff right on the cover!  It's issue #1 - May/June 2008.

And I'm with Nathan on this one, JB!  Keep us posted on this sort of stuff!!

The fact that most of us were clueless about this project is a good indicator that the JBF PTB should be willing to make some changes.  I know that JB likes to have sports in one place and Star Trek in another place, but too much specialization is a bad thing, IMO.

If you want to discuss Star Trek episodes or upcoming movies, the Star Trek forum is the place.  If you want to talk about the Undertaker at WrestleMania, do it in sports.  If JB is working on Star Trek or WWE projects, they should be discussed here in the forum where we all gather for that sort of thing.

a-ha - I have never checked the sports board for anything, so that explains how this totally slipped by me.

I don't think the sub-boards are that big an issue, but, as I noted in another thread, I sure could go for something like a "What's out now" thing to compliment Matt Hansel's "pre-orders" thread.
