No offence to Gregg, but I view Internet Deaths in a very similar fashion to Comic Book ones. It's worth not investing too much into it as you never know when it will be retconned.

Which means alas, that the genuine sufferers being tarred with the same brush.

++++++++++++

Sad, but true.

It chills me to think that someone would fake the death of a family member so as to bolster an argument about a comic book. Not to say that's what's happened here, but the timing seems rather...convenient. Of course, if this death is genuine, then I again offer my condolences.

We've had a few messy incidents around here where trolling forum members pretended to die themselves, and then assumed the role of a friend or relative to "break the news".

Unfortunately, in the age of the Internet, these things have to be viewed with some emotional distance at best, and suspicion at worst.

Which is deeply sad.

That's disturbing. Sadly, it is not surprizing, but it is disturbing.

Victor, it happened this past year on the forum. I won't give the guy any more publicity by naming him again.

JB:  No. Sorry, but no. I fully appreciate how much "trouble" I will get into for
this, but no. I cannot let this pass without comment.

It's good that you know this, especially since you are putting a few new projects on the market after a bit of a dry spell.  Your comments will spread all over the internet and through comic stores, and will definitely hurt your chances of success.  I'm of the belief that the art is important and the artist trivial, but I'm in the minority.  But hey, why censor yourself on this vastly important subject, and why give one of your fans a bit of slack?  It's already been a long and successful career, and fans are a dime a dozen.

My sympathies as well, Gregg.

Wow.  If it's the incident I'm thinking of, just wow.  I'm speechless.

Let's just blow up the Marvel Universe and start from scratch with creators who know and understand the characters.

********

Seconded!

The official word is that Mary Jane was never pregnant in the new continuity.

They're out there, JB - both experienced hands and new blood. They just need the opportunity.
