I agree, Ron. For me, the Michelinie-McFarlane run is one of my favorite AMAZING eras. As far as Liefeld, he drew Spidey in the X-FORCE issues that crossed over with McFarlane's final issue of the adjective-less SPIDER-MAN.

Trying to add "in your opinon." is another attempt at playing a shell game.
******
Trying to pass off personal opinion as objective fact is the real shell game.

I also liked when Michelinie teamed with Larsen and Bagley on the book.

Also did AMS Annual #23, which was one of the Atlantis Attacks tie-ins and
had a Byrne cover.

Nobody is doing that. Anybody who says anything is passing off their opinon as fact. Thats the way things are and always have been. "Um excuse me sir, I would like to say that in my opinon. That that I felt this paticular book was was not very um um good. That is in my opinon."

Victor, when you say "Most Spider-Man books in the last twenty years have been terrible," that's you taking your personal opinion, that you didn't like the books, and making it out to be an objective fact, that they were terrible. I'm sure you can see how one doesn't necessarily equal the other.
Now, if you were to have said, "I haven't like most of the Spider-Man books of the past twenty years," we wouldn't even be having this discussion, because I'd have said "different strokes for different folks," and that'd be the end of it.

"I need to read every single Mcfarlane Spider-Man to know it was a bad run?"
Apparently, because the stuff McFarlane did with Michelinie was fun stuff and brought me back to comics after I'd left. Just because you don't like something doesn't make it bad. Just like me liking something doesn't make it good.
Look, I prefer Lee/Ditko, Lee/Romita Spider-Man. But does that preclude me enjoying Conway/Andru? Or Micheline/McFarlane? Or Stern/Romita Jnr? No, it doesn't. Different Spider-Man's (!) for different times all with positives and negatives. Spidey has changed Status Quo before (leaving home, graduating school, dropping out of grad school), he's changed his supporting cast before (Rog Hochberg, Lance Bannon, Marcy Kane) and he'll do so again. This is just another one of those blips. Let's take the Zen approach of "Well, we'll see" rather than beating our chests.

I've read Micheline/McFarlane. Its very hit and miss with the art dragging down even the good stories. In paticular I think Eddie Brock has the worst origin of any of Spider-Man's top villians. Its nowhere near the quality of the runs you mentioned. Or ones you left off like Defalco/Frenz.
