He could ride a flaming mo-ped with a basket on the front just like in the movies! Only flaming.

"I guess the problem I have with what I've heard about the current story
is that it comes down to a a HERO making a DEAL WITH THE DEVIL. THAT
seems markedly UNHEROIC. Also, I still don't get what Mephisto gets out
of it. My reading of the character is that he always wants IT ALL, and
his "deals" are structured to guarantee this."

Yeah, but is Marvel's Mephisto really the devil? Or does he just act like one? For all we know, the "real" Marvel satan just appeared in Ghost Rider, torn into 666 pieces? For all we know, Mephisto is nothing but Mxyphisto, an imp from the fifth dimension with a fondness of the color red. He appears every 90 days, plays his evil mind games and is virtually all-powerful. Perfect way to clear Peter's soul.

Ha ! I think we figured out why marvel has cancelled th GIT DVD Rom licenses. I think the plan is to retroactively insert Mephisto's face into random spots of continuity to make it all seem more real...
Way to go Joe...and did anyone else notice the guy named Joe in the panel i posted up above... this is quite some long brewing revenge scheme.

I took a peek at Brand New Day at the comic store. I may be mistaken but it sure looks like Mary Jane Watson is secretly a costumed super heroine now ...Vootie?
+++++++++++
Yeah, apparently she's a super-heroine called "Jackpot".

Not really news. The character in question first showed up in the Slott/Jimenez ASM contribution to Free Comic Book Day in 2007.

Stay tuned for Marvel's next unbelievable crossover extravaganza true believer! It's a little ditty we whipped up called "OMFG.!......Just... what the $#%@ have we done? OMG!" after that we have a tasty follow up we could only call "The UNDO, UNDO, UNDO, UNDO, UNDO, UNDO, UNDO, UNDO, UNDO, UNDO...oh crap! Who set the UNDO level to ten? Great! Now we're really screwed! Chronicles."
" Not really news "
So you were expecting this specific development? I was pretty freaked out myself.

Given stuff like this in the FCBD one-shot--
...yeah, pretty much (even if I don't know the specifics of what's in the new issue).
(Hmmmm...given how this new status quo came about...more significance to the "777" than simply being indicative of a slot machine jackpot?)
(edit: formatting and final supposition)

I guess we have a new challenger in the "Least Believable Super-Hero Disguise Ever" contest. I know if Cindy Crawford put on a mask that didn't actually cover any of her features, I'd never be able to recognize her.

OK...unless it's already been stricken down by anything in the new issue...wacky suppostion time:
/inviso Jackpot's the "pre-OMD" Mary Jane. The whisper to Mephisto was to sweeten the (jack)pot for him, and ask that she be kept intact to make her pain (and his enjoyment) that much greater. Either Mephisto or a "higher power" split her from the "BND" Mary Jane and made her Jackpot...Mephisto would do so to enable her to be near Spider-Man as a peer but unable to reconnect and rebuild what was taken from them; a "higher power" would do so as an escape hatch to undo Mephisto's shenanigans.
/inviso off
But I'm still not sold.
