…at no point have I ever so much as hinted that I thought I was
anywhere near as good as George Pιrez…

Did I say you had?

Argue the points at hand, Erik, not the ones you want to argue.

Seriously JB why not follow your own advice?

Larsen asked where and when did you apologize to him as you claimed to
have done and your response is imply he's calling you a liar!?!?!?

Why not argue Larsen's point; he recieved no apology from you, none of
the forum members can find any evidence of an apology and you seem to
want to start of another fight accusing him of saying something he clearly
hasn't done!

Argue Larsen's points JB, not the imaginary ones you want to argue!

Erik didn't say YOU said he thought he was as good as Perez but you want
to argue with him over something he never said?

Jeez JB, can't you even show Larsen the courtesy in responding to posts
and queries he's showing here without the hypocritical double standards
and trying to accuse him of stuff he hasn't said?

Bad enough you use mindreading to accuse him of all sorts of imagined
misdeeds and actually accused him of having a background man when he
didn't.

Try again. This is Larsen's post:

"Really--I don't care who answers the question. I'm just curious to know if such an apology exists. If another Byrne board member can provide a link to where Byrne apologized for accusing me of having a background guy and admitting he confused me with Valentino-- I'm fine with that.

"John can sit this one out. Surely one of his faithful followers saw this apology and can provide a link. How about it?"

Note that his specifically addresses the question to my "faithful followers", and goes so far as to say I can "sit this one out". Given that I had previously made an apology and repeated it in this thread, that's not only calling me a liar, it's a clumsy attempt to boondoggle the whole thing by preempting any response I might make.

Jeez JB, can't you even show Larsen the courtesy in responding to posts and queries he's showing here without the hypocritical double standards and trying to accuse him of stuff he hasn't said?

Well, let's see -- I've apologized twice so far, despite the fact that I'm still waiting for Larsen to retract and apologize for things he has said about me -- How many wheels do I draw on wheelchairs, Erik? -- but the silence is deafening. So the hypocrisy lies -- where?

++

Bad enough you use mindreading to accuse him of all sorts of imagined misdeeds and actually accused him of having a background man when he didn't.

Unfortunately for Erik, no "mindreading" is required. But to the latter --- Seriously, have you even read the previous posts in this thread?

As an apology has now been made in this very thread, and in caps, can we PLEASE drop this topic. Seriously, why argue about whether an apology was made in the past if it one has been made now. It is like saying forget what you just said, I want to dwell on what you may or may not have said years ago.

John apologized to Erik now, and that is what counts.

If you go back just a few pages this is Larsens's Post  requesting the link
---
This is the first I've heard of any apology.

Granted--I can't be everywhere but you didn't call and you didn't write
and I don't remember seeing such a thing in the thread where I was
accused of having had an uncredited background artist.

Where and when did this appear? Can anybody provide a link? I'd be
curious to see it.

And for the record--Jim Valentino gave his background artist credit.
Which is not to say no artist has even used an uncredited background
artist--plenty have--but Jim was not one of them.

And I apologize if this is embarrassing or awkward. I didn't sign up here
to cause trouble--but I am curious as to whether this apology is real or
ret con.

I've read one too many Spider-Man comics
-------------

After not being answered he posted the one above

So you are ADMITTING that he didn't "ask for a link" and my response was to ask if I was being called a liar? Are we at least CLEAR on that point?

The lunacy of this continues to escalate. Question: since I am this pig-headed SOB who never, ever admits when he is wrong, why on Earth would I want to say that I had apologized, and then apologize again? As they say in Brooklyn, what would be my "get"? Embarrassing myself twice?

No one can "find" the original apology. Big mystery. Was it a post? Was it in a chat room? As I recall, the original reference to what tuned out to be Valentino's background man was made in a chat room. Is it unlikely the retraction would have been in such, too? I don't remember (and frankly don't care).

So far, in the apology department, looks like Byrne 2, Larsen 0.

I didn't know apologies, sincerity, honour, decency and basic human society
could be reduced to a simple point system. I hope a winner is declared
soon. This is not making anyone look good.

This is getting juvenile, no infantile. An apology has been made.
People(myself included) have been critical of John in the past for NOT apologizing. Why be critical now, when he has.

I for one am very happy that he acknowledged his mistake about Erik. Credit where it's due folks

So If Erik apologized in a conversation or Chat that you weren't a part of would that be acceptable to you?
