Dave, of course I have no problem with the family seeing the thread's text - I have a problem with someone, anyone handing it off on behalf of the forum. That person becomes a represnetative of the forum whether he likes it or not. And since it was Gregg A, I care very much how my words are presented to his family.

And I have now said numerous times it seems this went off well, and I'm glad. We're lucky Frank is a good guy and made the forum shine. Anything that helps the family is a good thing. But I don't want it to happen again. It makes me uncomfortable. I wouldn't presume to represent the forum in that fashion, even now that I read everything I can get my eyeballs on. And I don't want someone else doing it.

Actually, Brian, I'm trying to avoid the Zhangitis. I'm fucking sick to death of
your every other post being Joe Zhang related. You need to grow up and get
over him. It would be so damned nice if every time you posted here you
weren't drawing attention to Zhang. I wonder sometimes if YOU aren't just
another Joe Zhang alias, you're so fucking enamored of bringing him up all
the time.

(And if an officially appointed moderator with 'super-powers' tells me I can't
say that to you, I'll stop.)

(And yes, I realize not every other post of Brian's is about Joe Zhang. It just
starts to feel that way after a while.)

Every other post?? Methinks you exaggerate to a huge degree. Another Zhang alias? Funny, I thought the same of you.

Since I would prefer to never hear about Joe Zhang or any of his real or
imagined aliases again, I doubt it.

Sigh.

And this is the point where we clink glasses, down a draught and have a
good laugh, right?

Jay: "It's the printing, the use of paper and toner that's wrong. Frank should have carried a laptop in there and showed it using a wi-fi connection. The content is published for all the world to see, "members" and civilians alike."

******

In my opinion he shouldn't bring anything at all and attend for his own purposes. It's not like the family didn't see it - the family started the thread. But as I keep repeating, it sounds like Frank brought some comfort to the family, and that's what is really important.

I agree with Brian, it's heartbreaking seeing that again.

Tim, you should have spoken your opposition back then, when the opportunity presented itself, but since Gregg's brother said he was in favor of it, and no other board member who read the thread, including JB, said anything when Frank asked if anyone objected, I guess that would have been unpopular at the time. Now that we know that you (and JB) wouldn't want something like this happening again, I fell sure that it won't. I respectfully disagree with you, and I'll leave you alone now.

Not sure if you're intentionally missing what Tim is saying or not, Dave.  He's said, on several occasions in this thread, that he didn't read every single post by every single member in every single thread during the time he wasn't a mod.  The opportunity only presents itself when one is aware of the opportunity.  If one is not, there is no opportunity to be aware of and, therefore, you can't tell Tim he should have responded at the time.
