Gerry - as soon as I saw that Doctor Strange illo at Fred's web site I knew it was going to end up Chez Turnbull!

I might have gone after it myself otherwise.

Ari,

You really need to add an Earth-2 Batman by Staton to your extensive Batman collection.

Just grabbed on eBay.  I've always really loved Quinton's style, but never saw something I just "had to have".  This was the one I guess.  Hopefully it won't be pulled down.  It's not a superhero and he's shirtless.  Oh my!  (yes, that was a little tiny bit of bitter sarcasm)

Brian,
Great Joe Staton commission!  Love it, one of my favorites when I was a young lad!  JSA and Green Lantern were always fun with Joe.  How did you get him for a commission?  Thanks.

Awesome Batman piece you got there Brian.  I like the bldg. backgrounds and the Bat-Light, plus Batman looks cool.

Gerry,

Thanks for sharing your Hembeck binge with us.  Great stuff.  I love the center image of that most recent one with the Hulk lumbering towards the Ring-Master!

Brad---That Staton piece was a vintage piece from the period when he was drawing the Justice Society. In an issue of Alter Ego, this piece was one of group that Joe did(with Bob Layton) either as a style guide for the JSA or pin-ups. In the article, Joe didn't remember which it actully was. I found it for sale on an art dealer site.... As for aquiring Joe for commisions, I usually see him at the New York shows at least once a year. But he is also represented by The Artists Choice.
