Nowlan is just annoyingly good!!!

Q for John...Nowlan has always been considered "...an artist's artist," one of those guys who literally everyone wants to work with (Neal mentioned in San Diego that he'd like to get Kevin to ink some of his upcoming Batman work).  But I've never "gotten" him.  What am I missing?*

*I don't mean in terms of taste or personal preference...more, what in your view are his strengths as an illustrator.

Nowlan inking Adams? Interesting idea....but I wonder how it would work
out? His inking style is ultra-tight, while Adams does very loose pencils
these days.

I'd love to see Nowlan inking Adams! Then, I am the guy who would love to see him ink JB as well. Kevin and Michael Blair are the two inkers I would most eagerly wait to see ink John's work.

And nobody tell me John's pencils would disappear under Kevin's unique style, because after the Nelson parody in Action, I think Kevin would seem like heaven.

I think Nowlan would overpower Adams pencils.  Any more goodies for us today Paul?

He said he would probably ink part of it himself but would like to work with guys like Scott Williams and Nowlan...it was just casual conversation though, nothing definite.  A "wish list," if you will.

Thanks for locating that cover and posting, Gerry.

I'd pay hard money to see JB draw the same Mr Miracle, but of course in John Byrne style!!  I'm dead serious.  If John wants to draw that image or some reimagining of it in character pose, I'd foot the bill!
