That Mystic Comics cover is pretty damn cool Martin!

The pieces I ordered from Hembeck should be in later this week, and the turnaround was pretty quick (about 2 weeks), and Fred is about as nice a guy to deal with as you could ever ask for.

Love the Mystic cover Martin! Do you actually have that particular comic?

Hmm... maybe the F in JBF doesn't stand for Forum, but actually stands for Fred (i.e. John Byrne's Fred)? Just a hypothesis on my part a' course. ;)
I agree that the gems keep coming regardless.

Ari,

Interesting commission.  And congratulations!

In the context of your extensive Batman collection, I think that Liefeld commission is a total gem!  As a stand-alone... it's at best a novelty; which, of course, has value in itself.

I like the Liefeld Batman, but not shocked that you cannot see his feet.

I stumbled on Val Semeiks' web site and saw that he was accepting commission work.  I was a fan of his run on the Lobo regular series throughout a large portion of the 1990s.  I had him do a standard convention-style sketch of The Main Man:

Liefeld and Lobo on the same page of this thread!  It's like 1993 all over again!

"The Hembeck gems keep rolling in!  I've been waiting awhile for a piece from Fred and the last few pages of this thread explain why....JBF members are keeping him busy!!!!!"

And he emailed me in June saying that he was sorry for the delay and that he was getting to mine.   Since I was going away for a couple of weeks at that point, I told him to bump mine down the list and work on whoever's were next.  Not yours, apparently!  :(
