The "board" doesn't pick favorites when it comes to artists, etc. Individual members can and they are not to be mistaken for the board as a whole. This board is set up to appreciate the work of John Byrne and I can't even say 100% of its members do that! I wouldn't paint a broad brush by saying the board is this or that, the members are an eclectic group when it comes to what it likes and dislikes.

You can like Greg Land's work or don't like it, but let's not derail this thread to discuss the pros and cons of his artistic choices. If you want to comment on the individual piece posted that's fine. I don't, however, want the discussion to turn to what we like or dislike about his work as a whole. That needs to be a discussion elsewhere.

Sorry about that. Wasn't trying to disrupt the thread. Shall we go back to posting artwork then gushing over it?

Peter, that "technique" you used to show your point for the roman guard is
wild! How did you do that?

Not saying that is happening here, but I do enjoy the hopefully
understood mentality of this thread that we don't pick apart the artwork
that someone just purchased .
"Hey, you just bought that? That artist blows! That page is terrible! You
just blew that money out your ass!"

Sure. it'd be fun for a while...

...and sure, sometimes the artwork posted really stinks..

mostly Ari's stuff...

But should we make Ari cry by telling him it sucks?
Think of the children!!!!!!!
And what of all those crappy Paul Smith commissions?
Sucked!!! Total waste of money! Give them to me now, and I'll toss them
in the garbage!

Those Kubert's all blew chunks! Are you all blind that you can't see that?
(Except mine. Mine was a beautiful flower).

see, that was fun...

I don't mind the criticism, I was prepared for it. Of course Byrne remains my favourite artist and he's got a broad lead (9 pages) in my collection. I acknowledge the acuusations of excessive tracing and photo reference but this page was nice and I'd rather have this one than some pages you see for sale  with just one panel with drawing and 5 other empty panels left for stats.
