But based on Swing Shift and the preview pages, Mary Jane somehow ends up as a superhero named Jackpot so my hopes aren't particularly high about that.  (sigh)

Uhhhh...what?

Sins Past I can at least understand, even if I think it was wrong headed.

What do you understand about it?  There's nothing in that story that I remotely understand.

I subscribe to CBG, and they talk with JMS about his Spider-Man work.  He freely admits that every story he wrote was not a hit, and he explains what his intentions were with some of the storylines.  I think he is a good writer, but I think the stories he wanted to tell, were better suited for a different character.

Looking forward to what Mr Slott has to offer.

If Spider-Man got divorced, that would add a new stigma of sorts to the character. He would now be a 30-something divorced loser, instead of a 30-something married loser.

I just don't know what can be done at this point...

How many of you read the Free Comic Book Day Spider-Man? It seems very likely that it's representative of the new status quo after the "One More Day" storyline is over and Amazing Spider-Man goes 36 issues a year. It was written by Dan Slott and penciled by Phil Jimenez, both of whom are part of the new Amazing Spider-Man creative staff and it's already been confirmed that characters who debuted there will be turning up in ASM. Additionally, the story is being reprinted with bonus material to coincide with the new Amazing Spider-Man schedule and creative teams.

In the FCBD story "Swing Shift" nobody knew that Peter was Spider-Man (not even Aunt May), there weren't any references to him being married or having new powers and his webbing dissolved in an hour so it looks like he'll be back to the traditional webshooters. All good so far if it pans out.

The only weird bit was Mary Jane (from the looks of things) now as a super hero named Jackpot.

Still, the future is looking a lot brighter for Spider-Man than it has done for years.

Now if they can just take Spider-Man off of the Avengers, reveal Norman Osborn as a Skrull and also negate Sins Past somehow...

I don't think you have to negate Sins Past, just don't reference the story in any way.  Eventually it will be a small blip on the radar.

++++++++

It must be destroyed. Not ignored. Not spared. Dragged screaming into the light and obliterated. This, I command!

Oooooh!  I like it!  See, I'm in the camp that wishes Norman Osborn was never brought back from the dead.  I didn't buy that the serum that gave him his powers and eventually drove him mad also gave him an incredible healing ability that allowed him to survive a Goblin Glider to the chest.  Norman should have stayed dead.  He hasn't been nearly the villain since his resurrection that he was before his death.

And really, who needs Green Goblin any more when the Roderick Kingsley Hobgoblin is still out there? He hasn't been seen since Hobgoblin Lives and Goblins at the Gate, which did an excellent job of restoring the character.

Okay, I'll bite--what in the world was his intention with SINS PAST?
