The Miller Batman looks pretty faithful, but the hands make me think that it's Hank McCoy in a Batman suit.

That latest Ross Batman looks like crap. Too many wrinkles in the costume.

And too obviously an ugly face under the mask!
I used to like Ross's stuff (ie: Marvels). Now? Not so much. And it doesn't
translate well to sculpts to boot!

There's something bordering on irony, there. As I have noted on more
than one occasion, MARVELS blew me away. I'd seen painted superhero
stuff before, but none of it had captured the essential magic of the form.
Ross did so -- in spades! Only here and there -- most notably Galactus
-- did it come thru that what we were looking at were models in
homemade costumes. Unfortunately, as his fame grew, his sense of
wonder seemed to diminish. It became more and more about the
work looking like models in homemade costumes. Wrinkles, seams,
stitching. Sure, in the "real world" that's probably what these costumes
would look like, at least some of them. (We won't resurrect the Spandex
debate again.) But this isn't the real world. This is a magical realm where
a teenage boy can cobble together a costume out of stuff he finds in his
aunt's sewing drawer, and it looks like something Hollywood spends
$100,000 a crack to duplicate.
Now we get art imitating art imitating art --- the sculpts of the guys-in-
homemade-costumes Ross paints these days look even more like
guys in homemade costumes. And, seriously, is that what we want our
superheroes to look like? Do we really want them to be ordinary?

Sorry if i'm in the wrong place, i couldn't found a Star wars figure tread.

It's based on a Ralf Mc Quarrie drawing. I just love it
(and to thoses who migth wonder, yes, it's a flying delorean from episode II)

Sometimes I really wish Star Wars had looked more like McQuarrie
envisioned it. Really great Alex Raymond vibe from some of his concept art!

Re: Alex Ross. My assessment of him varies wildly depending on which character he's depicting. His Superman is truly majestic. His Batman I've never liked at all.
