Are you going to go for the Sentinel as well?

Galactus is frickin huge. Taller than many three year olds.

I feel like Galactus should be my insanity purchase for some time to come, but I keep an eye out for the HasLab Sentinel in case a promising lowball price coincides with a manic episode.

At 26" the HasLab sentinel is a little tall for my vision of a sentinel triad (my other two are each 16" ). And I feel like there's something incorrect about a sentinel standing chest high to Galactus.

The '97 sentinel coming out this fall looks promising. It's closer to the classic design and at 22" tall is closer to scale with the rest of my robot army in development.

It's a "battle damaged" alternate face.

Yeah, I got that. Don’t like the teeth.

Aha. I was caught up in not really caring for the entire damaged face, which looks like Popeye beat the sentinel up in a boxing ring, and details like the teeth eluded me. Until now. I won't be able to unsee it.

The teeth just don't look good, plus they make the upper grill look like buckteeth.

Worse, they're nonsensical. What would be the point of building sentinels with a row of lower teeth hiding behind their usually-closed robot lips? They're not chewing anything. Like what the hell?

Reminds me of when artists would draw teeth on Transformers.

Which is all fair comment, but possibly veering into overthink. Kirby drew Sentinels with varying degrees of human-like features. There are panels where they have nostrils, philtrums (philtra?), lips, etc. There is no logical reason for this beyond they are made to look humanlike.
Regarding the specifics of where that battle-damaged face comes from -- it is evidently based on the Disney+ X-Men 97 cartoon.

(And, yeah, I don't like it either!) |

Hey, I wasn't thinking about it at all until John Byrne Himself slapped me into logic think. Before I posted my comment, to make sure I wasn't accidentally insulting JB, I quickly flipped through the sentinel stories up through Days of Future Past, and not a row of teeth was in sight.

My interpretation has usually been the sentinel faces were expressionless and unmoving, except when the robots are squawking in terror.

I saw your image while googling, and it almost looks like that specific frame was the reference for the toy.
