Funko Pop has a ten inch version of Christopher Reeve’s Superman.

Just learned there’s a LEGO series called “Friends” (unconnected to the TV series) that is intended to be “girl-friendly”. To this end the mini-figs that come with it are “more realistic”, meaning still cartoony but less blocky.

 | However, they still have Lego hands, those grasping claws, which evoke disturbing memories of thalidomide.

Started the LEGO At-At. This time setting it up as an assembly line, which somewhat diminishes the pain of multiple identical assemblies.

I still remember when I saw those At-At's for the first time in the theater. It blew my mind!

 | This LEGO AT-AT is showing the same problems as previous kits. Clearly not designed to be assembled in earth gravity, for one thing. Now I’ve got the legs built and attached to the underside, I feel like I should get some red hot metal rods and push them down thru the full length of the legs to add some actual support. At the very least I feel I’m going to have to force some glue into the joints!

Just looked at the price of the Lego AT-AT with 6785 pieces... Cripes, that is expensive.
